About this experience

This private tour is based on the concept of allying your wishes with our professional suggestions and thus spending a fantastic day traveling through our beautiful Alentejo, Évora, and its surroundings. The first stop will be in a familiar Cork Factory near Évora village. After, we will take you to enjoy the beatiful Évora, a historic city that is walled and has great religious influence. The entire city of Évora has been a World Heritage Site and an open-air museum, according to UNESCO. In the historic center it is perfectly possible to wander through all the narrow streets and alleys that lead to beautiful squares, such as the well-known Giraldo Square. Let yourself be surprised by the Roman Temple, also known as Diana’s Temple, which is around 2000 years old. Also, visit the public garden, Fake Ruins, and D. Manuel Palace. Find distant times in Évora’s many museums and follow the Água de Prata Aqueduct to the fields or to reach the city.

  3. Evora District

Évora center, where you can walk through Giraldo Plaza, taste the local gastronomy, and explore this World Heritage of UNESCO. With a key role in different eras of the Portuguese monarchy, Évora has an immense legacy of historical references. The Roman temple is believed to have been constructed around the first century A.D. in honor of Augustus, who was venerated as a god during and after his rule, and was built in the main public square of Évora, at the time called Liberalitas Iulia. 4. Igreja De Sao Francisco

A church of Gothic-Manueline architecture. Built between 1480 and 1510 by masters of Pedraria Martim Lourenço and Pero de Trilho and decorated by the royal painters Francisco Henriques, Jorge Afonso and Garcia Fernandes, it is closely linked to the historical events that marked the period of maritime expansion in Portugal. This is evident in the symbols of the monumental nave of the vaulting vault: the cross of the Order of Christ and the emblems of the founding kings, D. João II and D. Manuel I. According to tradition, Gil Vicente was buried in this church in 1536. 5. Chapel of Bones

The chapel was built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in the place of the primitive dormitory of the friars. Its construction was based on the initiative of three Franciscan friars who wanted to provide a better reflection on the brevity of human life. The chapel consists of bones from the graves of the convent church and other churches and cemeteries in the city. The walls and part of the vaults of the chapel are covered with thousands of human bones, which illustrate the idea of the founding monks, expressed in the phrase above the porch of the chapel: We bone that we are here, for your hope. 6. Cathedral of Evora (Se Catedral de Evora)

The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption, better known as the Cathedral of Évora, or simply Sé de Évora, although begun in 1186 and consecrated in 1204, was only completed in 1250. It is a monument marked by the transition of style Romanesque to Gothic, marked by three majestic ships. A sight to see. Charming

On 06/08/2024, we had the opportunity and pleasure to make our tour / visit to Évora with the Guide sent by you, Maria Magdalena. It was a lovely trip. Maria Magdalena demonstrated with sympathy and patience, knowledge of the history of Évora, thus addressing our curiosities regarding the historical and social facts that magnify the city and its surroundings. We had lunch together, giving us clarification even about Portuguese cuisine. Worth too much!!

Atenciosamente, Equipa Yellow Cab TT Tours

Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included cost?

+

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Évora Private Tour - Cork Factory Visit Included start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

+

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
