Discover Scuba Diving
I participated in the Discover Scuba Diving package including two dives and the possibility of snorkeling in the magnificent setting of the Berlengas nature reserve. The experience was perfect from start to finish. A very clear briefing and impeccable rigor regarding safety, ideal for starting with complete confidence. The underwater spots we explored were great, with very good visibility. A huge thank you to Inês, who was extremely educational and reassuring throughout the day. The kind of diving instructor who makes you want to get your Open Water Diver certification right away. I recommend this center with my eyes closed to anyone who wants to discover diving at splendid sites with highly professional supervision! Thanks again to Inês, André, Andreia, Mohamed, and the afternoon skipper.

Excellent introduction to diving
Enjoyed a wonderful experience with my husband and two teenage boys (17 and 19). For each dive we each had a dedicated instructor who not only kept a close eye on us but also directed us to see all the wonderful highlights - octopus, plaice, starfish etc Lovely atmosphere on the boat with the staff and a custom tour of the coastal highlights of the island before our return. Would definitely recommend this experience - none of us had diving experience, I was quite nervous, but we all agreed this was the highlight of our holiday - we all loved it, mostly due to the reassuring, relaxed and professional treatment by the staff!!!

A short and long read about a professional friendly dive centre.
Bottom line up top: I would definitely use this surf centre. It's been hard to write this review as I really want to express how wonderful this organisation, their set up and the people that work for them are. I did a solo trip which was fine. The Portuguese in this area are genuine and friendly particularly if you at least try to say hello and a little more in their language! That said everyone at the centre spoke a good degree of English and other languages. Anyway, I met some great guides/ instructors. Rita is fab. Full of energy and a great instructor who I had for a Reactvate course day. Another day I had a guide called Beatriz who proved to be very calm under pressure as an inexperience diver was getting stressed underwater. She took control and managed the situation well. Lastly, another guide, Constança. Probably the most caring person I've met for a long time. We hit it off, particularly as she liked Pearl Jam, but on the boat rides back and forth to the dive spots she was attentive and looked after everyone. I dare say she was 'Alive' and transmitted it to others. It's not just praise for these three though. The staff try to help you at all times in and out of the water and back at the centre. The Captain José was the sort of person you'd trust to be out at sea with. Very professional. The centre is a reflection of the manger Bruno who is great. Friendly. Professional. The office staff are friendly too and happy to help. Andrea comes to mind 'nudging' me to the importance of my course theory work and helping organise transport. It's a nice long walk back into Peniche centre but not so great if it's cold/windy. There's usually someone going that way and she was usually the one that knew who. So, there's probably other good dive centres in the area but I am recommending this one as I've experienced it. I've also experience dive centres of various standards around the world. I rate this place as right up there as one of the best. I will go back! Happy diving. David

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Double Dive Baptism on Berlenga Island start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
