All you need is this excursion & a cheeky boat ride

As someone who travels often and enjoys doing different activities on my trip I can honestly say this is worth every penny; it’s a mixture of culture & learning, adrenaline (buggies & zip lines) as well as partying and water activities. The day itself has everything you can ask for. I went with my family 7x of us age range between 40 to 5 years and everyone had a great time, even the teens too! The food was good, the day was well organised including time management- although we did a lot, it didn’t feel rushed. The team were exceptional!! If you’re visiting Punta Cana I’d recommend this activity for anyone— think you get everything in one day. One thing to be aware of is when we arrived we felt pushed to buy thing we didn’t necessarily need in the end. Those coming, bring water shoes, glasses/ goggles and a light scarf for the dust when doing the buggies. The pictures were really good quality for our group we paid 155 usd but that was a larger group - just to keep in mind but they’re worth it!

Not worth the cost – too much waiting, constant upselling and some serious safety concerns

We booked as a family of four — two adults and two children — and unfortunately I don’t think the experience represents good value for money. The tour is split into several activities, but you take part alongside large groups of approximately 30–40 people. As a result, you spend far more time waiting for everyone else than actually doing the activities themselves. Photo package: If you want the professional photos, be aware of the sales approach. We were told before the activities started that the package would cost around $150, and that if we didn’t buy it then, individual photos would cost $30 each afterwards. It felt like unnecessary pressure to commit before you had even experienced the activities. Payments: They add approximately 15% when paying by credit or debit card, which they told us was tax. This was the only attraction or venue we visited where we experienced this. Also be careful when paying in Dominican pesos, as prices are quoted in USD and then converted back into pesos using their own exchange rate, which was not particularly favourable. Monkey/parrot photos: This was the part I found most unacceptable. Inside the park there are handlers with monkeys and parrots who approach families for photographs. We were initially led to believe this was included. The animals were then placed into the children’s hands and afterwards the handlers aggressively demanded around $20 per person. You expect this sort of tourist hustle in some public areas, but not inside an attraction where you have already paid a significant admission price. Parents should be particularly cautious because once the animals are placed with the children, you are immediately put under pressure to pay. Buggies: Probably the biggest disappointment. Because the group is so large, you spend much of the experience crawling along in a convoy rather than actually enjoying the buggies. Several buggies broke down during our trip and the vehicles generally appeared very heavily used. More concerning was the condition of some of the safety equipment. Seatbelts were damaged and my partner effectively had to be tied into the buggy because the restraint wasn’t functioning properly. In an emergency, I would have been very concerned about how quickly she could have got out. Goggles and bandanas are also not included. We were quoted around $20 for goggles and $5 for a bandana. Zip lines: It took approximately 45–60 minutes just to get the group harnessed and ready. There are around five zip lines covering the main area. The children enjoyed them, so this was one of the better parts of the day, but if zip lining is the main reason you’re booking, there are much better dedicated options available. Horse riding: This was concerning. A number of the horses appeared to be in poor condition and we saw animals with what appeared to be visible/open wounds. It made us uncomfortable participating. Cave swimming / cave party: This was actually quite enjoyable and the DJ inside the cave was a nice touch. Unfortunately it was extremely crowded because, by this point, several groups had been combined together. The guides: The guides were easily the best part of the experience. They have the difficult job of trying to keep very large groups of people together and moving between activities, and they worked extremely hard throughout the day. They were friendly, had plenty of jokes and genuinely tried to make the experience enjoyable. Our criticisms are really about how the attraction itself is organised and operated, rather than the guides, who did a great job with what they had to work with. Overall cost: On top of the approximately £350 admission cost for a family of four, I would realistically recommend bringing another £200–£300 in cash if you expect to buy photos, goggles, bandanas, drinks, tips or get caught by the additional photo/animal charges. The extra costs mount up very quickly once you’re inside. Overall, there are some enjoyable elements — particularly for children — but the experience is badly undermined by huge group sizes, excessive waiting, additional charges, aggressive upselling and questionable safety standards. For the amount this attraction costs, I expected a much more organised, professional and premium experience. I wouldn’t book it again.

Review for Sexy Castle & Sexy Chocolate We had such an amazing experience with Sexy Castle and Sexy Chocolate! From beginning to end, they were incredibly attentive, friendly, and informative. They took the time to explain each part of the excursion, making sure everyone understood what to expect and felt comfortable before moving on to each activity. Throughout the entire experience, they continued to check on us periodically to make sure everyone was doing okay and that no one was left behind. You could truly tell that they cared about everyone having a great time and feeling included. What stood out the most was how welcoming they were.
