Great day out!

Had a lovely time! Sadly saw no dolphins but we knew it was unlikely. Nice trip around Lanzarote on the sea. Was a bit wavey but guide and captain were great. Lovely views. Few people went swimming and life jackets were there for smaller children if needed. We did leave around 5 minutes late and arrived back around 3 mins early so it was short but sweet! Would do again as many of the other boat tours are longer; this was a great short alternative.

Our best ever dolphin experience!

Seeing dolphins is of course not guaranteed - and as the boat turned round and headed back to port we’d accepted that on this occasion we had at least been lucky to see some flying fish. Then a pair of dolphins surfaced within 10m of the boat! The crew slowed the boat right down and we found ourselves in the middle of a pod. The dolphins were swimming with the boat, racing, leaping and flipping. There was even a baby swimming next to its mother. So moving. The boat is small enough that you still feel close to the water, but large enough to keep steady in the waves so none of us felt sea sick. Thank you to the crew for a fantastic experience.

Avoid at all costs

Absolutely poor experience and would not recommend. It was overpriced, despite going direct to the tour operator for the best price. We were a family of 4. We were the last in the queue, despite arriving 20 mins early, and had to stand in the blazing sun. Our seats were at the back and had no view at all. The hour at sea to see dolphins and other wildlife revealed only tourists on various boats - there is no way we’d ever see dolphins with the noise of all the boats on the route. The guide admitted to being severely hungover and gave no useful facts or history to keep us entertained whilst we were searching for imaginary dolphins. The final 30 mins were to swim in the sea, which wasn’t ‘crystal clear waters’ as described. In fact, we were by a banana boat place, so had constant additional waves. Waste of money. Do not go.

An unmissable dolphin extravaganza

Wow this was a humbling experience. Although I’ve been abroad around forty times I’ve never seen dolphins in the wild. We were not guaranteed to see them and the guide told us that on Saturday one trip had seen them and one hadn’t. I didn’t expect to see them. One was spotted at first then eventually there were about twenty. We were so excited! Some of them were doing tricks like backflips and some doing synchronised swimming ! I could still cry even writing about it. You could feel their joy. You must experience this.

Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lanzarote.

How much does Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen cost?

+

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lanzarote usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lanzarote is not rushed.

Is Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 116 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lanzarote, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen?

+

Around 41 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lanzarote can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lanzarote and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Dolphin Mini Cruise at Playa del Carmen start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lanzarote within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lanzarote?

+

On Outty we rank every Lanzarote experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guapatini's Show Bar, #1 thing to do PDC (Badge of Excellence), Catamaran Sailing in Lanzarote, Tour to Timanfaya, Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes and viewpoint from the cliff. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lanzarote?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lanzarote?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
