Know before you go
- Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
- Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness
- Minimum age: 18 years old
- Winter departures: If the temperature falls below -0°C there is a possibility that the dive instructor will change the tour into just one dive due to safety reasons
- This is a challenging dive where you need to be capable of carrying heavy equipment up to 400m
- Since you are wearing a snorkeling/dive mask to see underwater, there can be nothing in the way of the seal to keep them from filling up with water. You cannot wear glasses underneath the mask. You will have to go without them, wear contact lenses, or bring your own goggles with prescription
- *Guests need to have previous dry suit diving experience*. Your guide needs to see your Dry suit certification card, or a logbook showing that you have completed a minimum of 10 previous dry suit dives (signed by a dive professional). You need to have dived in a dry suit within the last 2 years to ensure that your skills are up to date and so you enjoy the dive.
- Please wear warm undergarments (fleece/wool), and warm socks are required
- Please bring a change of clothing. The change of clothing is a precaution since no dry suit can be 100% guaranteed to be dry unless it is made especially for you

Great experience
Fernanda is amazing! Very helpful and informative guide. The snorkel experience was fantastic and such clear views.
Response from the operator: Hi Mike, glad the snorkeling was fantastic. Silfra's clarity does the heavy lifting, but a great guide is what lets you relax and take it all in. Arctic Adventures Team

It rocked
Honestly, was unsure what to expect, but this exceeded my expectations. From what we did, to the views, to it not being too cold, to our incredible tour guide Nail (nael - Argentina). Definitely recommend!
Response from the operator: Hi there, going in unsure and coming out saying it rocked is the best kind of turnaround. When even the cold surprises you by not being that bad, the whole day exceeds the worry. Arctic Adventures Team

Response from the operator: Hi there, really glad the dive was that good. Amazing experience and amazing people is exactly the combination we're after. Arctic Adventures Team

Book when it’s not super busy!!!
Our guide Ilia was awesome, give this woman a raise, she was so patient and helpful and easy to get along with and it was clear she cares about the environment and the areas the tour goes through! For the tour itself, the waters are crystal clear and the experience is really cool. The cold wasn’t that bad at all. The staff assessed what size fleece lining, dry suits, gloves, hats, masks, and flippers we’d need very well. The suit has silicone seals around the wrists and neck but they aren’t too tight or restrictive, I was very worried about it while watching everyone else put their suits on but after putting on my own, it was alright. However there are like 5 different companies that all schedule tours at the SAME SPOT. So if you are going on a really busy time of year, no matter what company you book with, you will be waiting in line about an hour after suiting up to get into the water. Otherwise I have no negative comments! Just hope all these companies can agree to having a more reasonable cap on the number of people booked per day.
Response from the operator: Hi Cherry, thanks for your review. The gear fitting and the guide both sound like they came through well. The crystal-clear water making the cold irrelevant is Silfra doing its thing. Good tip on the scheduling Arctic Adventures Team

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir cost?
+
Prices start at $245 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 227 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir?
+
Around 79 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dive the Divide: Silfra Fissure Scuba Tour | Meet at Thingvellir start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
