    Lovely day with Yahya

We spent the day on a private tour with Yahya in Fes. Fes is just fascinating as well as confusing but with a guide like Yahya who is from Fes and knows how to navigate the souk we had a marvelous time. We spent the morning in the car seeing sights outside the Medina, had a lovely lunch then spent the afternoon shopping in the souk. It is easy to get lost in the maze of shops. We would never have found our way back to our Riad or found the shops we needed. We recommend Yahya for any tours and would use him again without question🥰

Response from the operator: Thank u so much 😊😊😊we are happy to hear you enjoyed it 🙏🙏🙏

Fascinating and Fun tour of Fes

Our guided tour of Fez was an absolutely great experience. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable of rhe local and Moroccan history and culture. The soukes were quieter than normal because we toured on a Friday, which was perfect for a more relaxing atmosphere. One highlight was the visit to the tannery, a fascinating glimpse unique processes We only had one day in Fes and this tour was enough to make us feel like we really experienced the cirt. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback back 🙏

    Highly recommended

Yahya was our guide on this walking tour of Fes. This was a great experience - Yahya was very knowledgeable about his local City, guiding us carefully from our Riad to all of the interesting areas of Fes. He was friendly, easy going and took us to the major parts of this historic City as well as some interesting parts based on his own local knowledge. We would highly recommend this walking tour as it added so much to our understanding of this UNESCO site.

Finding your way through the labyrinth of Fès IS possible with Yahya!

This morning we took a four hour trip through the labyrinthine alleys of the old city with our courteous, and wonderfully knowledgeable, guide Yahya. We were met punctually at the door of Riad Marjana and walked through the wider alleys on the outskirts of the medina and through the increasingly narrow paths, some no wider than a slim adult. As we walked into the centre of the ‘bowl’ that is the old city Yahya explained the history and layout of the town and how it has gained UNESCO status and is undergoing extensive restoration. This is the most astonishing medina that we have seen in extensive travels in North Africa, Turkey, and the Middle East. It has so much to offer on every level whether you wish to haggle in the souk, visit the museums, mosques, or medersas (Koranic schools), or take in the many unusual crafts in the town that have barely changed in hundreds of years. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to the tannery, the like of which we had never seen before. And just to balance the senses we had a herbal tea at Abdullah’s tiny tea shop (he has been making teas from fresh herbs for locals and visitors alike for fifty years) and a lovely visit to Attare Medina a beautiful and really interesting perfumery with a most gracious host. But we feel that one can only grasp a fraction of what this incredible city has to offer without engaging a professional, official guide to explain the detail, and Yahya truly is the best!

Response from the operator: Thank you su much

    Yahya is the BEST

You can’t get a better tour guide than Yahya. He grew up in Fes so he knows all the best local spots of your choice, speaks great English, knows how to get the groups attention, has relevant historical information, and is a very warm person. 10/10 experience. We wish we could’ve spent more time with him since he is such a great guy.

Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fez.

How much does Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local cost?

    +

Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fez usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fez is not rushed.

Is Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Fez, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fez can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fez and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Discover Fez and it’s hidden secrets with a local start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fez within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Fez?

    +

On Outty we rank every Fez experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Day Trip to Chefchaouen from Fez ( instagram /Photos ), Fes to Marrakech: Merzouga & Ait Ben Haddou, 3 Days 2 Nights, 2 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Fes/Marrakech via Erg Chebbi. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Fez?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Fez?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
