About this experience

What do you think about not only seeing Bruges, but also the beautiful authentic Damme, a lost harbor town 5 km away from Bruges? During its golden ages, from the 13th to the 16th century, Bruges had several outports. Damme was then an important port city. After all, all goods came here from the sea, before they were transferred to smaller ships. Everyone always focuses on Bruges, but forgets about this Flemish village of only 11, 000 inhabitants, but with a great medieval past. History is very tangible in beautiful Damme. In addition to a typical star shape of the city (a result of its 17th century wall), the medieval town hall, church and hospital are still present. Get lost with me through the winding streets and hear the stories of a distant past during this relaxing bike ride

What you'll see and do

  1. Bruges

During this bike tour begins right in the heart of medieval Bruges. We start our tour on the central market square, with the belfry. After an introduction of Bruges and its relationship to the sea, we drive past the old financial and banking heart of the city, with nation houses of Genoese, Florentines and wealthy banking families, to Damme. During our route through the Flemish fields, the story is told of Bruges and its trade via the zwin. Arriving in Damme, we enjoy a wonderful medieval town with numerous beautiful old buildings, such as a town hall from the 15th century and a hospital from the 13th century. If desired, we can enjoy a typical local beer before cycling back to Bruges. * Itinerary can be customized to suit your needs. Feel free to message me.

How much does Discover Damme The Medieval Village Near Bruges cost?

+

Is Discover Damme The Medieval Village Near Bruges worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bruges, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Discover Damme The Medieval Village Near Bruges?

+

Is Discover Damme The Medieval Village Near Bruges suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Discover Damme The Medieval Village Near Bruges?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bruges can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bruges and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Discover Damme The Medieval Village Near Bruges start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bruges within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bruges?

+

On Outty we rank every Bruges experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historical Walking Tour: Legends of Bruges, Bruges Guided Retro Biketour: Highlights, Hidden Gems & Tasting, THE Storytelling Tour of Bruges | First Day Must | History & Tips. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bruges?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bruges?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
