A Night of Wonderful Food and Company
We had a wonderful trip to Portugal. We saw most of Portugal traveling between Lisbon and Porto. We were in Cascais at the end of our trip and one of the highlights of our trip was our visit to Teresa Lemos's home for an authentic Portuguese meal. We were welcomed with a charcuterie board that included a filled bread loaf with cheese for dipping. So good! The wine was poured. The table setting was just lovely. Our dinner was soup, rice with monkfish and a beautiful dessert of Leite Creme. Most importantly we feel like we made new friends in Teresa and her cousin Mario. We could have talked all night. We highly recommend this experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review. It was great to have you with us too.you are a very friendly family with many stories to tell. We hope to see you again soon. :) ×× Teresa

Amazing Experience!
We visited Portugal with our family of five and met up with some friends who were traveling nearby. I booked a cooking experience at a local woman’s home - not really knowing what to expect - and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Teresa and Mario were absolutely wonderful hosts: warm, welcoming, and so genuine. Although I had accidentally booked the wrong experience, Teresa went out of her way to accommodate us, and we still got to enjoy a hands-on cooking segment. Her home was beautiful, and the atmosphere they created made us feel like we were visiting old friends. The food they prepared was incredible - bursting with flavor and served in such generous portions that none of us could even come close to finishing everything. We enjoyed plenty of wine, lots of laughter, and it was such a fun night to share with our friends from home and our kids all together. We visited on my birthday, and to my surprise, they even brought out a cake with candles and sang to me. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the night truly unforgettable. Overall, it was a perfect experience, and I’m so grateful we took a chance on it. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Dear Family We were very touched by your comment. Thank you do much:) It's always so good and rewarding to see our work and dedication recognized! We wish you all the best. It was a great pleasure having you with us! Teresa&Mário

One of our very favorite experiences in Portugal!
What a wonderful night we had at the home of Teresa. Teresa is an amazing cook and host along with her cousin Mario. There were six of us as we were traveling with family. Our experience included a beautiful table setting but first we were treated to a welcome dinner toast and a charcuterie board. We then had the most delicious meal of soup and rice with monkfish and shrimp. Then a dessert that we are sill dreaming about. Very much like a creme brulee but is called Leite Creme. We had excellent Portugal wine through the night. Most importantly we had a great night talking and learning about their lives Portugal. We feel like we made new friends and carried them home in our hearts.
Response from the operator: We greatly appreciate the comment you left us. It was a pleasure for us to receive such a nice Family! We carefully prepared your "meal" with dedication and pleasure. Come back again! Teresa & Mário

Beyond our expectations!
Our cooking workshop with Teresa and Mário, was nothing short of unforgettable. Teresa welcomed us into her beautiful home and made us all feel every welcome. It was a much more personal experience that we had anticipated. Our evening began with a toast of port wine on her porch and continued inside with a huge selection of local wines and appetizers. Teresa and Mário divided our group of 9 cousins into groups of 3 and we each took a role in preparing our meal. They guided us through each step of the cooking process and really let us get our hands dirty (gloves provided!). As the meal cooked under Mario's supervision, we moved into Teresa’s garden where we sipped more wine and listened to her stories about her family. We told her of our travels and had a lot of laughs. When dinner was ready we moved into the dining room which Teresa had set beautifully. Mario and Teresa served the appetizer and meal and finished it off with a luscious desert that was similar to creme brûlée. We were celebrating the 60th birthday of two of our group and Teresa had candles in the desert and we all sang. Our group of nine female cousins from the U.S., Ireland, and Holland—agreed that this evening was one of the most special of our entire trip. We cannot recommend this experience enough. For anyone who would like to learn a bit about Portuguese food and also enjoy a wonderful dinner, this is the the place to be!
Response from the operator: To all of you, such empathetic, helpful, friendly and cheerful cousins, We are very grateful for your feedback and for being with us. It was an unforgettable event for us too. Come back again. Thank you. ×××××× Teresa & Mario

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cascais.
How much does DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home cost?
+
Prices start at $113 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cascais usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cascais is not rushed.
Is DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cascais, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cascais can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cascais and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does DINNER OR TAPAS in a Poruguese Home start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cascais within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cascais?
+
On Outty we rank every Cascais experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Surf Experience in Cascais, Best of Sintra Private Tour with Local Guide & Hotel Pickup, Surf Lesson. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cascais?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cascais?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
