A wonderful dining experience!!

We had the pleasure of dining with Kim. It was a small, intimate gathering in her home which made the entire experience extra special. The dinner was traditional French cuisine using the freshest ingredients and it was all prepared by Kim.

Response from the operator: Thank you Thank you. Loved meeting you and delighted you enjoyed the evening.

Great meal and great company

The food was really good. Kim had stories and recommendations based on her years in France. We were very lucky to meet someone like her.

Comfortable, casual, yet surprisingly eligant!

A truly lovely evening! Kim graciously invited us into her very comfortable home and provided insights on visiting Bordeaux as well as a plentiful dinner! We learned of her background, of how she has made Bordeaux her home to where to purchase from the best selections of wine in each area of the city. Kim and her cat put us at ease in a relaxed atmosphere. The four course meal featuring fresh locally sourced ingredients of duck and beautiful vegetables paired with a really fine wine was the Coup de grace!

Fabulous four course dinner.

Fabulous four course dinner, full of local products, served with a delightful white wine. Kim ensured it was a very convivial evening.

Excellent meal and conversation!

The experience with Kim was 5-star from the moment we booked till we left her home last night. She communicated with us immediately upon booking to let us know the typical menu. As my husband does not eat meat, she confirmed back that she would prepare a fish dinner. We were greeted with a glass of wine and appetizer platter (hummus, crackers, olives, goat cheese & walnut on toast) and had a delightful chat as we got to know each other a little. We then moved to the dining table where Kim served salmon trout and rosemary roasted potatoes and of course more wine. The next course was a fresh tomato salad and a selection of cheeses. This was followed by a delicious peach dessert. The conversation was lively and interesting, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Kim is a world traveller and also gave us lots of tips for here in Bordeaux and abroad. If you have a chance for a meal with Kim, you will not go wrong and have some amazing memories! Thank you again, Kim!!

Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bordeaux.

How much does Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home cost?

+

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bordeaux usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bordeaux is not rushed.

Is Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bordeaux, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bordeaux can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bordeaux and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Dine With a Bordeaux Local in a Chartrons / Jardin Public Home start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bordeaux within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bordeaux?

+

On Outty we rank every Bordeaux experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Saint-Emilion Electric Bike Day Tour with Wine Tastings & Lunch, Saint-Émilion Afternoon Tour - 2 Grand crus & French apéritif, "Bordeaux by bicycle: a 3-hour tour immersive experience". The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bordeaux?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bordeaux?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
