Great flavours, discovery and welcoming !
I had such a wonderful time with Dolly during the Old Delhi Street Food & Spice Market tour! From the very first minute, I genuinely felt like I was spending time with a friend rather than simply being on a guided tour. Dolly is incredibly kind, fun, warm and positive — she has such a lovely, sunny personality, and I felt comfortable with her immediately. This was actually my third time in India, and I’m already quite used to Indian food, so I honestly didn’t expect to discover that many new things. But Dolly took me to try so many dishes I had never heard of or tasted before — things I would probably never have discovered on my own — and they were absolutely delicious! It was such a fun surprise to realise that even after several trips to India, there was still so much food I didn’t know about. I also really appreciated how attentive she was to my preferences and sensitivities throughout the tour. She took the time to understand what I could or couldn’t eat, whether it was about spice, chilli, meat or simply personal preferences, and always made sure I felt comfortable. But what made the experience even more special was that it wasn’t only about food. Dolly shared so much interesting information about Old Delhi, its history, culture and everyday life. I learned a lot while still having a genuinely fun time — it felt like a perfect mix of cultural discovery, great food and spending time with someone really lovely. And as a woman travelling alone, I also want to mention how nice it was to have a female guide. Of course, this is not to say that male guides aren’t great too, but there is something particularly reassuring and enjoyable about exploring a place with another woman, especially when travelling solo. Dolly’s warm, positive and caring energy made the experience feel even more comfortable and special. I really think female guides deserve to be celebrated and valued more! I genuinely had such a great time with Dolly, ate SO well, discovered so many new things and left with a big smile. I would absolutely recommend this tour — especially if you want to experience Old Delhi in a way that feels authentic, fun, cultural and personal. Thank you so much, Dolly!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your beautiful words! Debora ❤️ It was truly a pleasure spending time with you, and I’m so happy you enjoyed discovering new foods, Old Delhi’s culture, and the local life with me. Your words about travelling with a female guide especially touched my heart. I’m so glad you felt comfortable and cared for throughout the experience. Thank you for being such a wonderful guest and for sharing your experience. I hope we meet again someday! 😊✨ With love, Dolly

Me and my wife had such a great time doing to streetfoor tour. As a former chef I really like to do local tastings, cooking classes and really experience the culture through taste. This was honestly the best food experience I have ever had. Tavrej is such an honest, nice and funny guy. He was very knowledgeable and we did more than just taste amazing and ofcourse safe food. He told us a lot about history, culture and religions. I can recommend his business to anyone. And also he made us feel really and comfortable. From start to finish 10/10!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this amazing review! Jessi 😊 It was an absolute pleasure showing you and your wife around Old Delhi. And I have to say... getting such kind words from a former chef feels like I've passed the toughest food exam! 😂 I'm so happy you enjoyed not just the food, but also the stories, history, and culture behind it all. Thank you for trusting me with your Delhi food adventure. You're both always welcome back there are still plenty of hidden food gems waiting for your next visit! Best Regards! Tavrej

Fascinating and fun - there are great memories from today!
Dolly was a fantastic tour guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Delhi, the Sultanate, Mughal Empire and more recent history. The sites were fantastic and brought alive by her enthusiasm. Furthermore, she took extra care of my teenage daughter during this tour ensuring that she was safe and happy. A definite recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Josh for your lovely words! ❤️ It was such a joy showing you both around Delhi. I'm especially happy your daughter felt safe and had a great time—that means the world to me! Next time we'll have to test if she remembers any Mughal history... There might be a surprise quiz! 😄 Hope to see you both again soon! Best Regards! Dolly

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.
How much does Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk cost?
+
Prices start at $2900 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.
Is Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 80 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Delhi Street Food, Spice Market and Chandni Chowk Heritage Walk start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Delhi?
+
On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Delhi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Delhi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
