What a great tour with...
What a great tour with Colin! Our group was ages 10-80 and he was able to keep all of us engaged and interested. Even those that had been there twice learned something this third time around. The trip is about 3 hours one way from Paris (which we knew) but it went by quickly and was the perfect time to rest before a full day. We visited Omaha, Pointe du Hoc, and the American Cemetery and museum as well as a 4th generation calvados maker and lunch. It was a long day, but worth it on every level.
Response from the operator: Thank you for this lovely review. Ages 10 to 80 all engaged in one day is a real testament to Colin, and we love that even a third visit still had something new to offer. The mix of Omaha, Pointe du Hoc, the cemetery, and finishing at a calvados maker is exactly the kind of day we enjoy putting together. Long day, well spent. If you come back to France, we would love to show you another region and another artisan or two. Kind regards, The Finding France Team

Great private tour!!
We had the best day! We had a family of 5 adults on the tour - my dad is a huge WW2 buff - the rest of us were just along for the ride, but we all had the best day. We learned a ton, and it was overall very enjoyable. Our tour guide Colin was AWESOME- very accommodating and informative. My dad was so happy with the day - and myself and the rest of the family really loved the tour and found it very informative. We also really wanted to get seafood at a local place and Colin took us to the best place! He had sent a what’s app the night before confirming all details and he was there at Hotel du Louvre right at 7am on our tour date! Long trip to and from Paris but Colin made it great!
Response from the operator: Thank you for this lovely review. We are so glad the whole family had such a great day, and that your dad in particular got the WWII experience he was hoping for. If you ever come back to France, we would love to show you another region and take you behind the scenes to meet some of our artisans and craftspeople. Thank you for traveling with us. Kind regards, The Finding France Team

Excellent experience
Although pricey, we felt this tour was well worth it. My husband was a World War II buff and this trip was on our bucket list. Our guide, Colin de Rivas, was excellent. He had gone out of his way to research old pictures of the bunkers and D Day beaches to show us what it looked like back in 1944. The American Cemetery was especially moving because it was so huge. Colin made sure we enjoyed ourselves on the tour and was very kind in that he did not rush us through any experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that this special bucket-list journey lived up to your expectations and felt worthwhile. Colin will be so pleased to know that his preparation, knowledge and thoughtful pace helped make the history of Normandy feel especially meaningful for you both. We would be thrilled to welcome you back for another immersive, tailor-made experience anywhere in France. The Finding France Team

Colin was thoughtful attentive and resourceful
Colin was an attentive and thoughtful guide. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the journey. Most importantly, he was quite knowledgeable of the Normandy invasion and went the extra distance to explain with the use of photos he stored in his iPad, the invasion. What was remarkable, was his effort at trying to show exactly what point or place was the actual photo taken during the invasion. We managed to climb into the bunkers before the crowds converged and he showed me several bunkers that other visitors were not normally led to. I am thankful and will recommend him to anyone for the Normandy excursion
Response from the operator: Bonjour! We are delighted to hear how meaningful your day in Normandy was, and Colin will be truly touched by your kind words. His dedication to bringing history to life, with the right context and attention to detail, is exactly what we strive for in every experience. We are especially glad you could access more confidential sites and enjoy those moments away from the crowds. We would be honored to welcome you again for another private journey, in Normandy or anywhere else in France, always fully tailored and seamlessly organized from start to finish. Kind regards, The Finding France Team

The whole experience is...
The whole experience is informative and humbling. The cemetery and the movie they play will bring tears to your eyes bringing home the sacrifices these, and all our soldiers make for our freedom. Our guide Colin was amazing. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer and he was patient while we took photographs. This trip was on my husband’s bucket list but I wasn’t sure I wanted to go but I’m very glad I did. I learned so much, saw such beauty and sadness at the same time in the cemetery. We actually went into German bunkers, one that still had a cannon in it. It brought history to life.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a moving and thoughtful review. We are deeply touched to read how meaningful this experience was for you, and how it brought history to life in such a powerful and emotional way. Colin will be truly honored to know that his knowledge, patience, and care helped make this visit so impactful. We believe these places deserve to be experienced with respect, context, and humanity, and we are grateful you trusted us for such an important journey. We would be honored to welcome you again for another meaningful experience anywhere in France. Kind regards, The Finding France Team

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.
How much does DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.
Is DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 113 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris?
+
Around 40 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does DDay Beaches Private Tour in Normandy from your Hotel in Paris start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paris?
+
Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paris?
+
April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paris?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
