What you'll see and do

  1. Ourika

Whether a family with children or friends, sports or less sport this day trip will delight you. it is perfect for those who want to discover the splendor of the High Atlas and discover the simple way of life of the Berbers. An hour's drive is enough to reach the Ourika Valley. First stop to visit the weekly market Tnine-Ourika: A small village where the Souk is aboard the river only Monday or Friday. Discover this beautiful village populated essentially with Berbers selling and buying their weekly staff, from vegetable to spices...). Afterward, you will have the opportunity to visit a Berber family in its home and discover their way of life. Enjoy the decoration and the Berber architecture and take part in a small meal (tea and snack). Do not miss it, to take with you small memories (ex: school supplies) to give them to the small children of the village. They will be a source of joy for them. Take, then, your way to the heights of the Atlas to explore the waterfalls of Setti-Fatma. By heading to the last point of our trip you will enjoy the change of the sceneries and landscapes. Upon arrival, your guide will take you for a hike. Here, you will enjoy panoramic views and do not hesitate to take a lot of photos. The village contains many typical restaurants that offer you a choice of Moroccan traditional meals from tagines and grills according to your desires. After lunch, you will have time to relax and drink mint tea by the river before driving back to Marrakech. Optional: in our way or back you can ride camels or ride a quad bike to discover more of the Berber villages that we can’t visit by car?

Private excursion to Ourika

We contacted BigBus directly via WhatsApp to arrange a personalized private excursion. We had a minibus with a private driver for a very good daily rate. Hassan was a very good driver, respected what we wanted to do or not do, and gave us good advice. Thanks to him! We had a very good day.

don't waste your money and time

unfortunately, we didn't get the tour we paid for and expected, as per the description online. the driver was a good man and turned up on time but there was no Guide on the tour at all. the driver spoke very little English, just simple words but we had no information or translation about the tour, the local area or history. it was a beautiful drive and you basically pay for transport and nothing else. the tour descriptions states that we would get a professional guide plus a local guide, we got neither. when we arrived at Ourika village many local men approached us and we were told we could pay extra for a local guide. we did not meet a berber family nor go to their home for tea and snacks again as advertised. it is disappointing and not the tour i paid for or expected from the trip. it is verybexpensive to be paying this price just for transportation. when we did question inclusions with the driver, he had absolutely no idea and basically said nontour guide, local guide extra.

Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech cost?

+

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day Trip To Ourika Valley From Marrakech start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
