Beautiful Day in at Pegg’s Cove and surrounding area

We had a beautiful day exploring the area, and Ziyan was a wonderful driver and guide. He was knowledgeable about the places we visited and shared interesting information along the way. He was kind, personable, and very flexible should we wanted to make adjustments or consider visiting additional sites. The reason I gave four stars instead of five was because he was 20 minutes late picking us up (do to traffic). Since we were on a cruise and had a limited amount of time to explore, this made us a little anxious about getting back to the ship on time. Ziyan did know what he was doing and got us back to the port on time so everything worked out well in the end. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our day with Ziyan

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re delighted to hear that you had a wonderful day exploring Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, and Peggy’s Cove with Ziyan. We sincerely apologize again for the 20-minute delay at pickup and completely understand the concern this may have caused, especially with a cruise schedule. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We’re very glad Ziyan was able to make your day enjoyable and ensure you returned to the ship on time. Thank you once again for choosing us and for your kind words about Ziyan. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Nova Scotia in the future!

    Exceptional

The best decision we ever made about our trip. We can't say enough good things about this tour and our tour guide, Zamir. The fact that this was a private tour for just the 2 of us made it outstanding. We could plan our schedule and stops with our guide and really enjoy all of his stories. Mahone Bay was gorgeous and quaint with the 3 churches and lovely bay with all the islands. Lunenburg had so much to offer with quaint colorful houses, excellent restaurants and shops and a wonderful waterfront with the Bluenose ship. The Swiss Air Flight 111 memorial offered gorgeous scenery to offset the sad occurrence. Peggy's Cove is a small village with a picturesque signal light and crashing waves. You must take this tour in Halifax if you ever have the opportunity. You will not regret it.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Judith! It was a real pleasure spending the day with both of you. I truly enjoyed exploring Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, the Swissair Flight 111 Memorial, and Peggy’s Cove together, and I’m so glad you appreciated the stories and history along the way. Thank you for your wonderful recommendation—it means a lot to me. Wishing you both many more amazing adventures, and I hope to welcome you back to Nova Scotia someday! 😊

How much does Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax cost?

    +

Prices start at $259 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Halifax usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Halifax is not rushed.

Is Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Halifax, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Halifax can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Halifax and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day Trip to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove from Halifax start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Halifax within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Halifax?

    +

On Outty we rank every Halifax experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wine and Lunch Escape, Small Group Tour - Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, the Annapolis Valley, Half-Day Historical Tour of Halifax. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Halifax?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Halifax?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
