Lovely beachside daytrip

Overall we had a very nice time. Our driver, Ali, met us promptly at our pickup location and made sure we were comfortable. After getting out of the city, we stopped for a coffee and bathroom break at a large clean rest area. Then we went on and Ali took us to a huge Berber rug cooperative (320 women!) where two guides showed us the different rug types and styles. We had already purchased two rugs in Tinghir so didn’t have room for more - well worth purchasing if you haven’t already bought rugs (but always negotiate). Then, we went to an argan oil cooperative to see how it’s made and we’re able to buy pure, organic argan oil. In Essaouira, Ali gave us good tips for getting around and offered to meet us for lunch. He took us to a lovely little restaurant serving local fish and it was clearly not a tourist trap. Overall we enjoyed our day and it was heavenly to be by the ocean after so many days in Marrakech and in the desert.
