Zia and Shami gave us an unforgettable day!

Our guide Zia was so great - I cannot say enough about how his manner, humour and knowledge made the day so exceptional. He and our driver Shami were a perfect team. We were picked up promptly at the Hard Rock Cafe in Lisbon and got on the road right at 8:00 AM. Zia told us in great detail what we could expect from the day, and at each stop he explained exactly what was going to happen and how long it would take. On the drive south, he provided fascinating detail about the history, geography and architecture we were seeing. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and along with us were two Americans and two Poles. The company was truly delightful, which obviously is not in control of the operators but made for a great day. The van was comfortable and well stocked with water and wifi. We were told to ask if we needed anything adjusted but it was never necessary. The three hour drive south (with one 15 minute stop for a bio-break) was followed by the first Algarve stop, including amazing views to which words can’t do justice. Zia knew the best viewpoints and peppered us with facts about what we were looking at while using our cameras to capture us with the stunning backdrop. Back in the van for a short drive (5 minutes) down to the beach where we had 45 minutes to swim and soak up the sun. Atlantic Ocean was cold, of course, but given the hot breeze it was refreshing and welcome. Back in the van and off to the old town of Lagos…or maybe it was Portimao? Where we had an hour to have lunch and explore the shops and charming streets. Our driver Shami drove us right to the entrance and picked us up there as well, exactly on time. Then a 40 minute drive a boat ramp where we did a half hour tour to Benagil cave and other caves along the shore. As it was low tide we were able to sneak into caves that otherwise wouldn’t have been accessible - it was truly spectacular and though there were many other boats and kayaks, we never felt crowded or delayed. Pictures do not do it justice! It has to be seen. Zia was a full participant in the crew who herded people on and off the boats, and the whole thing ran like a well oiled machine. I thought we were done but there was a final stop where we were guided into an amazing cave where Zia photographed us with the sea visible through holes in the limestone. He’s obviously done this a lot because the photos looked like they were professionally done. Zia then led us to watch some crazy tourists and locals do cliff jumping - one member of our party did a scary looking jump to rapturous applause. I was happy to watch from dry land. Finally we began the 3 hour return drive in the comfort of the minivan, with a single (welcome) bio-break about an hour out of Lisbon. I can’t recommend this excursion highly enough. If you’re lucky, you’ll have Zia as your guide. I’ll never forget it.

Best way to end your vacation in Portugal

Nayem was a great tour guide. He got us safe to our multiple destinations. He was very friendly. He spoke good English. My daughter and I booked the tour with the boat ride, however it best to let Mr. Nayem book it just in case the weather is bad. He took pictures for us. He made our restaurant reservation for us

Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon cost?

    +

Prices start at $275 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day Trip To Algarve: Benagil Cave, AlgarSeco & Lagos, From Lisbon start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
