Shiragawa in Gifu Prefecture has the largest scale of thatched roof houses as World Heritage Site. In Japanese, this kind of house is called “Gassho-zukuri” meaning two hands holding together which resembles the shape of roof fixed merely by rope without a nail. Up to end of Meiji Period, villagers utilized it as workshop to practice silkworm raising, paper and gunpowder making- a single house could hold maximum 30 people to live in. You will have sufficient time of 2 hours strolling and exploring this fairy-tale like area.

We enjoyed the nature...
We enjoyed the nature mostly, the weather was so hot we couldn’t visit all areas. The trip worth to try but not during summer time. The guide was kind of boring we felt asleep on the way to the locations and she was in a hurry. Besides, there was not enough time to explore the last stop most of the tours time was taking up by the bus.
Response from the operator: We are sorry that you were not satisfied. We will take your feedback into consideration in the future. Thank you very much.

Nice trip, went by fast
It’s a nice trip, 3 different towns that are all worth a visit. The guide was helpful and spoke English well. June is a hot time to travel but the bus ride was easy and well air conditioned. The crowds were not a problem.
Response from the operator: It seems that you were satisfied. I'm glad. There are still many famous tourist spots in Japan, so please come again. Thank you.

Our guide was very nice...
Our guide was very nice and gave explanations before each stop. He even suggested what to do with our limited time.
Response from the operator: I'm glad that you were satisfied. I hope to work with you again in the future. Thank you!

expect "just" transportation (and you won't be disappointed)
This “tour” was essentially transportation to the various sites. Very little explanation or description of the visited sites. That said, we very much enjoyed Shirakawa and Takayama. Because it was the holiday weekend, traffic was crazy and we could fit in gujo hachiman. The snow in Shirakawa was beautiful. Before you go on this trip, be sure to do some homework ion what you will be seeing.
Response from the operator: This tour is a great deal that takes you to three places: Shirakawa-go, Takayama, and Gujo Hachiman. Thank you for participating.

Chaotic tour
Th tour was chaotic at best. The tour guides with the blue Wonder flag did not show up until 8:05 for the 8:15 tour start. We boarded the bus about 8:35. Most of the passengers spoke Chinese and the tour was geared to them. The guide only read a brief summary in hard to understand English. I have lived in Asia for more than 60 years so I can read the Japanese signage and gain a lot from it. The bus driver and guide were arguing constantly about the correct time to return to the bus. It was a beautiful day and the stops were fabulous. The bickering on the bus between the professionals made it uncomfortable.
Response from the operator: We are very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay. We will use your valuable opinions as future reference. thank you very much.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nagoya.
How much does Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya cost?

Prices start at $9300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nagoya usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya take?
+

Is Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nagoya, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya?
+

Is Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nagoya can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nagoya and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Day Trip for Shirakawago ,Takayama & gujo hachiman from Nagoya start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nagoya within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nagoya?
+
On Outty we rank every Nagoya experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hiking the Historic Nakasendo Trail [1 Day Tour from Nagoya], Nagoya Highlight Tour guided by a friendly local, Ghibli Park 1-Day Bus Tour from Nagoya. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nagoya?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nagoya?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
