    Friendly and good toure

Had a great day with Irfan, our driver. He told us a lot about Sri Lanka. Showed us extra interesting places and let us taste Sri lankan specialties. He also drives neatly and gentle. With a son who always get carsick thans is really a bonus.

    Fabulous day out

We had a fantastic time with our guide Shamin. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great time and took particular care as we hiked down the rock in the middle of a downpour and suddenly surrounded by brand new waterfalls that popped out of nowhere! We expressed an interest in trying local food and he made multiple stops for us at short notice throughout the 11 hour tour to enjoy fresh snacks at the road side stalls. Thanks for a great day and especially for your understanding regarding our confusion with the start time, it really was appreciated.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing this amazing review! We’re truly delighted to hear you had such a fantastic day with Shamin. He will be so happy to know his care and attention made a real difference—especially during that unexpected downpour. Hiking down the rock in the rain can be challenging, and it means a lot that you felt safe and looked after. And what a moment that must have been—suddenly surrounded by “new” waterfalls appearing out of nowhere! We also love that you wanted to try local food, and it’s exactly Shamin’s style to make the experience more authentic with quick, thoughtful stops at roadside stalls for fresh snacks. Those are often the little memories guests remember most. Thank you as well for mentioning the start-time confusion—no worries at all. We’re glad Shamin handled it with understanding and helped the day run smoothly. Warm regards, Zameek

    Adhil is the BEST!

I’m traveling solo and decided to do a day tour from Kandy to learn more about the area and do some hiking. Adhil picked me up from my accommodation in the morning and we spent the whole day together exploring, hiking and laughing :) He is very knowledgeable and fun and offered to stop anywhere along the way. He suggested that we hike Pidurangala and I’m so glad we did! It wasn’t too busy and the view was gorgeous! I would definitely recommend booking with Aaliya - it was informative, easy and fun and I’m lucky to have had the best guide and now friend! Thank you, Adhil!!

Response from the operator: Dear Jane, Thank you very much for you wonderful review about our service. Adhil is a very talented and young guy of our bench Aaliya’s team. Excellent day with Adil

This tour was so much more than I expected. Adil took me on several stops including an Ayurvedic herb garden, a Hindu temple, as well as Dambulla and Pidurangala. Even with all the stops, I never felt rushed and enjoyed each site for as long as I pleased. The highlight was definitely hiking up to the top of Pidurangala and spending a good chunk of time just admiring the view and enjoying the peace and quiet from a vantage point far above the fray. Adil was such a delightful guide (and very safe driver). It was such a pleasure chatting with him and learning about the life, customs, and history of Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Dear guest , Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're delighted to hear that you had a fantastic day tour to Dambulla and Sigiriya with our guide Adhil . Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kandy.

How much does Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kandy usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kandy is not rushed.

Is Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kandy, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kandy can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kandy and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day tour to Pidurangala Rock & Dambulla from Kandy start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kandy within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kandy?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kandy experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Explore Kandy City Tour by Tuk Tuk, Tours and Transportation in Sri Lanka, Chauffeur guide and Tour organizer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kandy?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kandy?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
