    1. Arches National Park

The tour will head north on US 191, passing the entrance of Arches National Park, which was designated as a National Monument before being changed to a National Park in 1971. Our special use permit allows us to enter the back door to Arches via the Willow Springs Road. Along this backcountry route, you’ll travel through the new area of the “Utah Raptor State Park”. Here, where Native Americans lived back in history for thousands of years, you’ll see dinosaur tracks and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountains. The Park lies atop an underground salt bed that is responsible for the arches, spires, and sandstone fins. Several of the stops include Eye of the Whale, Balanced Rock, Delicate Arch viewpoint, and the Windows Section. The trip length is approximately 4 hours. All vehicles are Jeep Rubicons, which are enclosed and air-conditioned.

    2. Canyonlands National Park

The Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park is the focus of this excellent half-day tour. Set 2,000 feet above the canyon floor below, we will descend from the top of the mesa via the famous Shafer Trail. Using Shafer Trail’s winding switchbacks the tour will take guests from atop the mesa to the meandering river corridor below. Throughout the tour your experienced and knowledgeable guide will provide you with information on the Park and the various scenery that you will see. There will be an emphasis on the history, archeology, and geology of the area. Your guide will also point out natural sandstone arches, and other formations that many visitors might miss on their own while visiting the Park and the canyons below. This tour offers guests the opportunity to see the splendor of Canyonlands from the comfort of our fully enclosed, air-conditioned, 4×4 vehicles. The tour could be run in reverse, or bottom of the canyon, climbing up.

    Amazing and Unforgettable!

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Mark , our guide, was fantastic. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable. I learned so much! Not only did the gorgeous landscape of Moab keep us engaged so did his contagious personality and humor. He took to my interest in the rocks immediately and shared with us a couple from his personal stash. I have to say that I also enjoyed the lunch as the sandwiches were huge and delicious. I highly recommend this tour with Adrift Adventures. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you Mark for an unforgettable experience.

Great all day adventure with Mr Bill

Highly recommend this tour! Great way to see the backcountry of both parks. Such beautiful areas only accessible by 4x4. Thank goodness for Guide Bill’s great driving skills !!Lunch was great and we had snacks and water along the way. Plenty of bathroom breaks as well. Thank you Bill for a great day that far exceeded our expectations. We appreciate your vast knowledge of the area. Kurt and Shelley

    Amazing tour!

As a group of 7, we split up into cars with Mark and Bill. Both guides were amazing, and we loved the experience. It was a great mix of educational commentary and joking around/conversations as desired. The scenery was incredible, and using this company allowed us to see arches that we wouldn’t have otherwise been able to.

Response from the operator: Thank you!

Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moab.

How much does Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep cost?

    +

Prices start at $382 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moab usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moab is not rushed.

Is Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moab, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moab can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moab and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day tour of Arches & Canyonlands NP. Backcountry 4X4 Jeep start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moab within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Moab?

    +

Moab is the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands: sunrise arch tours, 4x4 runs on Hell's Revenge, Colorado River rafting, canyoneering and dark-sky stargazing. Park entry timing systems change often, so we weight tours that handle reservations for you. On Outty we rank every Moab experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HIGHLY RATED U-DRIVE Moab Hell’s Revenge UTV Off-Road Adventure, BEST! Hell's Revenge U-Drive 4X4 Tour in Moab +Dinosaur Tracks!, 5-STAR Moab Hell's Revenge UTV U-DRIVE TOUR + DINO TRACKS. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moab?

    +

April to May and September to October, avoiding peak summer heat. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moab?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
