Warm and Cozy
Daniel communicated well and arrived on time. We were greeted to a warm and cozy RV that made traveling a breeze. Once we arrived at the Aurora Viewing Sphere, Daniel started the heaters in the sphere, while we stayed warm in the RV. It was only a total of 4 of us on the tour, so we had free run of the sphere. There were plenty of snacks to nibble on and drinks. My son and I spent a lot of time outside playing in the snow and exploring around the sphere. Right about midnight Daniel alerted us to the aurora activity. It was such a beautiful site. We could see the colors with our naked eye, but through our cell phone lens (change the settings to "pro" and slow the speed of the lens) we could see the lights dance. For the next couple of hours Daniel would come and alert us when the light show would start up again. There was a bathroom in the rv for us to use, plus a port-a-potty near the parking lot. We had more aurora chases scheduled for the next 2 nights with a different company, but they ended up getting canceled due to cloud cover. Thanks to Daniel taking us out on our first night, we left our vacation very satisfied with our aurora encounter. It was a magical night and everything I hoped it would be.

Awesome trip!!
Awesome trip! Amazing tour guide. Had water and snacks available as well as hand warmers! He took our pictures under the aurora and sent them to us for free. The rv was nice and had a bathroom on board. Great experience!!

Great Night!!
Daniel was awesome!! He took us to a sphere first where he built a fire. It was nice and toasty there! About -25 outside. It was a cloudy night so Daniel asked if we wanted to try another spot. We did. He took us to 2 more spots. We finally saw the lights on a cloudy night. Daniel kept an eye out for the lights while we waited inside. RV was fine, nothing plush. Bathroom worked. Max is 8 people, I think. Daniel kept the RV running so it was warm. Thanks Daniel!! You were great!

Daniel is an excellent host
We went out with Daniel twice. Once not very successfully but he moved us around trying to find the best spot. But the second time we were more successful at Chana Lake and also went back to his geodesic glass dome for a toasty fire
Response from the operator: Thank you for your recognition. I will continue to manage my RV tourism business well.

Aurora
Daniel is awesome guide. Good and prompt response to our questions . Comfortable and warm RV well equipped with snacks and drinks. We got a spectacular show of northern lights, he took us to two different places. Took our pictures in the freezing weather, totally appreciate his patience. Highly recommend! Thank you Daniel. Mamatha Sandu
Response from the operator: Thank you. It’s my responsibility to help everyone chase and see the Northern Lights, and I will continue to do my best.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fairbanks.
How much does Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $189 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fairbanks usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fairbanks is not rushed.
Is Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Fairbanks, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fairbanks can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fairbanks and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dancing Lights in the Sky on an Aurora RV Tour Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fairbanks within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Fairbanks?
+
Fairbanks is the aurora capital of interior Alaska: heated viewing lodges, late-night chase tours, Arctic Circle day drives up the Dalton Highway, dog sledding and summer riverboat cruises. On Outty we rank every Fairbanks experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights - Aurora with FREE Photos - Arctic Night Tours, Dog Sledding and Mushing Experience in North Pole, Fairbanks Ice Fishing Expedition in a Heated Cabin with Fish Cookout. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Fairbanks?
+
Late August to April for aurora, June to August for midnight-sun river trips. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Fairbanks?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
