If you have ever thought about visiting Jordan, just do it, you won't regret it.
I have just completed the last day of my Dana to Petra trek with Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea. Sadly I will be leaving this beautiful country tomorrow. I didn't book a private tour but certainly got one after all other hikers cancelled. The four days hiking from Dana to Petra was a unique experience due to the amazing job by guide Motaz Zghoul and support crew Atalla (and his donkey Troy). Atalla's dad Eid was a welcoming, smiling face at each camp after a long day of hiking with our tents pitched and beautiful food cooked by his wife Hetam. Motaz' cultural, geological and historic knowledge is extraordinary, bringing each encounter and stunning vista to life. Nothing was too much trouble. Drivers for the Wadi Rum & Dead Sea experience and return trip to Amman were safe, flexible and obliging, all adding to a memorable experience (thanks Mahdi). Jordan is a special place to visit. It's safe, unique and warm hearted. If you like adventure hiking put this trip on your bucket list.
Response from the operator: Greetings from Experience Jordan Adventures, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing to explore Jordan with us. We are delighted to hear that your Dana to Petra trek and Wadi Rum & Dead Sea adventure exceeded your expectations. It was truly our pleasure to host you, and we’re especially happy that Motaz, Atalla, Eid, Hetam, Mahdi, and even Troy the donkey helped make your journey such a memorable one. The Dana to Petra trail is a special experience, and your kind words about Motaz’s knowledge, Atalla’s support, Eid’s warm welcome, and Hetam’s delicious camp meals mean a great deal to our team. We will be sure to share your feedback with everyone involved. Thank you as well for highlighting the beauty, safety, and hospitality of Jordan. There is no greater compliment than hearing that you would encourage other adventure travelers to add this trek to their bucket list. 9day Dana to Petra trek
I had the pleasure of joining the Dana to Petra trek in April of 2026. Even though it was during tensions in the middle East our guide, Motaz and the Experience Jordan crew was able to make us feel safe. My recommendations goes out to our guide, Motaz and Experience Jordan Adventures and Jordan, as a country. It offers such beauty, variations in the landscape and great hospitality from all I've met during my two weeks in the country.
Response from the operator: Greetings from Experience Jordan Adventures, Thank you so much for this incredible review, and for sharing such amazing photos with us! Knowing that this trip ranks among your very best experiences after 35 years of travelling abroad truly means the world to our team. We're delighted to hear that the organisation, flexibility, and friendliness of our office staff, drivers, and camp team all contributed to making your journey special. And of course, Mahmood will be over the moon to read your kind words — his passion for Jordan's geology, history, flora, fauna, and people is exactly what makes him such an exceptional guide, and we're incredibly lucky to have him. Thank you once again for choosing us to share this magical adventure with you. We hope to welcome you back to Jordan one day! Sincerely,

Jordan magic
I’ve been holding abroad for 35 years and this Rae’s as one of my very best experiences. Experience Jordan were excellent; well organised, flexible, and friendly. The office staff, drives and camp staff were great. The star of the show, and the cherry on the cake, was our guide Mahmood. We was not only a loverly man, and so friendly, but an excellent guide; knowledgeable and passionate about the geology, history, flora and fauna, and the peoples of the amazing country try we were hiking through. Fantastic.

A varied and highly rewarding Jordan adventure with great hiking and world class visits to Petra and Wadi Rum.
We had great time in Jordan with Experience Jordan Adventures from the patient assistance and reassurance of Shushan in the office to our kind and highly capable guide Motaz for whom nothing was too much trouble.. We honestly have not felt safer and more welcome in a country we have visited. The landscapes, kind people and varied activities of this Jordan adventure make this a highly rewarding trip and the trekking high above the Jordan valley is world class and on good paths, ending in the jewel of Petra. The flexibilty to stay in a refuge instead of camping in the rain was appreciated ! Food throughout was wholesome and plentiful. We were lucky on this trip to be in a small group which made us very flexible. Logistics were perfectly organised. Come to Jordan, it is wonderful !
Response from the operator: Greetings from Experience Jordan Adventures, Thank you so much for this wonderful and heartfelt review, it truly means everything to our team! We are so happy to hear that your Jordan adventure was such a rewarding and memorable experience from start to finish. Shushan will be so pleased to know her patience and reassurance made a difference, and Motaz will be equally thrilled to hear your kind words. We are also glad the flexibility to swap camping for a refuge during the rain worked out — comfort always comes first! And we agree, there is something truly magical about trekking high above the Jordan Valley and arriving at the jewel of Petra on foot. It is one of those experiences that stays with you forever. Thank you for embracing Jordan with such an open heart and for encouraging others to visit. Jordan is indeed a wonderful country, and it is guests like you who remind us why we love sharing it with the world. We hope to welcome you back one day for another adventure! Sincerely,

Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amman.
How much does Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days cost?
+
Prices start at $1595 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amman usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days take?
+
Plan for about 216 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amman is not rushed.
Is Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 216 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Amman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 216-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days?
+
Around 76 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amman and add a light layer if any part of the 216-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dana to Petra Trek + Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea - 9 Days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amman within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amman?
+
On Outty we rank every Amman experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Amman: Petra and Wadi rum Private/Group Full day Tour, Discover Trax Jo Playground and Traffic Park Fun, From Amman :Private or Group Full day tour to Petra. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amman?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amman?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
