Great fun
Sam was a great guide, very nice and helpful! Fun, beautiful (but short) trip kayaking in the harbor. Walk to sea cave was kind of hard on wobbly rocks but for younger people probably not an issue. Wear closed sneakers or hiking boots. Sam helped me when I needed it. The sea cave had water too high to enter it so that was a bit disappointing. But overall great experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It was a pleasure having you with us on the Dana Point Kayaking & Coastal Hike. I’m glad you enjoyed the kayaking, harbor views, and the walk along the coast. The sea conditions and tide can sometimes make the cave inaccessible, but I really appreciate your understanding. And thank you for mentioning the footwear tip, closed-toe shoes or hiking shoes are definitely the best choice for the rocky trail. I’m happy I could help along the way, and I hope to see you again for another adventure with Rafiki Tours!

A great activity of ALL ages
We had a wonderful experience with Sam as our tour guide over Father's Day weekend. He did an excellent job sharing the history of Dana Point and explaining the fascinating geology behind the area's beautiful coastline. Sam was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions throughout the tour. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to learn more about Dana Point while enjoying the outdoors.

Sam Cancelled
I was contacted an hour after booking to try to get me to change my booking to another day. I wasn’t able to, and Sam confirmed my original booking date. The morning of the booking, he cancelled on us.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the cancellation of your tour. As a small tour company, there are rare circumstances where a tour may need to be canceled due to factors outside of our control, including severe weather conditions or tour guide availability resulting from illness. Given the nature of this adventure, which involves kayaking, hiking, and ensuring the safety of all participants, I did not feel it would be responsible to guide the experience while sick. I didn't want to risk your safety, the group's experience, or potentially expose anyone to illness. the cancellation was necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests and staff. We understand that travel plans require time and coordination, and we regret the disruption this caused to your visit. A full refund was promptly issued, and we made every effort to communicate the situation as soon as possible. We truly value every guest who chooses to travel with us and appreciate your understanding. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.

Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dana Point.
How much does Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dana Point usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dana Point is not rushed.
Is Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dana Point, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dana Point can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dana Point and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dana Point Kayak and Hike to sea cave with Sea Lion Sightings start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dana Point within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dana Point?
+
Dana Point, CA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Dana Point by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Dana Point experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale Watching Excursion in Dana Point, Dana Point Dolphin and Whale Watching with Underwater Viewing, Up-Close Dolphin & Whale Watching Zodiac Adventure in Dana Point. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dana Point?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Dana Point, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dana Point?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
