    Great experience with the family

Fantastic experience. It’s a 45 minute hiking trail up with lots of steps and then down a lot of steps. This adventure is not for someone with any kind of disability. Or gets winded a lot. You also need good balance because once you’re in the water you’re traversing through rocky ground. Several water slides through the rock formations and two big jumps off a platform. You’re 20 to 30 feet jumping in. Once your back they fed us a wonderful buffet of food. The food was delicious. It wasn’t an afterthought. The local cuisine was delicious. Pile on the white rice and spoon in a lot of the beans on the rice. You’ll thank me later. We felt like some dessert after which isn’t included but the coconut ice cream was phenomenal. Great experience with the family. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! Very appreciated. Happy you had a great experience with us.

    Hands-down amazing service!

This company was amazing! Pick up was a bit of a walk, but they warned us. So worth it! The entire excursion to the falls was amazing. They even sent a person with us to take photos at no charge (we tipped him well😊) and sent us almost 100 photos/videos within a few hours! I highly recommend the crew to anyone considering the Waterfall excursion!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback! Glad that you enjoyed Damajagua waterfalls & our service.

    Great experience, great...

Great experience, great communication. It was easy to find the group after getting off the cruise ship at the port. From there they drove us to the waterfalls. It was so much fun, my kids loved it. The only thing to be aware of is there is about a 45 minute hike uphill to get there (it would be much shorter, but they take lots of breaks in areas outfitted with benches for those who need to rest). I didn't see anyone at this activity who was not having a blast. Would highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback! Very helpful. Good to hear that you had a great experience with us.

    Can’t recommend this trip enough!!

Excellent adventure!! Highly recommend! Probably one of top two trips we have been on in our travels. We are a family of four ages 53, 50, 21, and 18 and all had the time of our lives. The hike up is slow paced and you stop for breaks a couple of times so nothing too bad. The slides and jumps were very exciting and definitely different from any other excursion we have been on. Richard was our driver and a very knowledgeable man. He was so interesting to talk with. Franklin was our personal tour guide from the van on and he was very friendly and personable, his personality made the trip!! He took pictures all during the excursion and sent them to us the next day. He was a big part of making sure we were having a great time. Felix and Carlos met us at the start of the adventure and guided us (and several other groups) through from the bottom to the top and back down. Highly recommend this trip to anyone seeking a little adventure. We felt safe and secure throughout the entire experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! Glad to hear that you had a great time and enjoyed our service.

Awesome, BUT not for the faint of heart….literally!!!!

This turned out to be a great adventure. However, it started out with quite the unexpected hike. Yes, there’s “walking”, but what we didn’t know (or realized) was that the walking included seeming endless inclines of unsteady stairs, gravel walkways, and very rocky terrain. We’re not in pique physical condition and managed fine in the heat, but I was definitely concerned for a few in our group and some elders. BUT, once we got our steps in, we found ourselves at the highlight of one of the most amazing (and refreshing after all that exercise) excursions we’ve been on. You’ll have 2 jumps of varying heights and 2 slides, or 4 slides if you choose not to jump so you won’t be stuck. All in all, this turned into a fantastic adventure, that was also followed by a great homemade meal, and a trip to a small village for coffee and chocolate tasting and shopping. Absolutely would do it again, and definitely recommend to anyone without preexisting conditions or physical handicaps of any kind.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Glad to hear that you had a great time despite all the walking.

Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.

How much does Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.

Is Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure for Taino Bay and Amber Cove start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
