    Must do recommended company!

Fantastic experience and a must do tour if staying on the north coast! It was just the 2 of us so felt like a private tour but we were travelling in low season. Our driver Jerson was great, very safe and shared a lot of local information. I recommend booking with a smaller local company like this one!

    Most reliable touring company

Unfortunately I am unable to rate this particular excursion to the waterfalls since it got cancelled due to Mother Nature. However I can only praise Antonio and my driver/guide, Jerson. This was the second time that I had used this company and I wasn’t left disappointed. They both went above and beyond to accommodate me. I didn’t ask for a refund since I was determined to explore more of Puerto Plata. Jerson did an improvised sightseeing tour for me. I cannot even name all the places we visited it was so abundant. So, if your plans change at the last minute rest assured that Antonio’s company will not leave you hanging. You can absolutely trust in their expertise and hospitality.

A great trip to the Waterfalls, coffee stop and city drive.

A great quick trip, lucked out with a small van with AC a Guide and no one else. Waterfalls were a short hike with a small morning group.

Great trip, would do it again!

Fantastic pick up and drop off car service from our place near Cabarete. Lunch was included, and we optioned for a quick stop for coffee and cacao on the way home (which is more clearly designed to make you buy stuff at the gift shop but no big deal).

    super fun adventure

It was about a 20 minute ride from the cruise port and about 20 of us sat in this open-window ‘truck” – which was interesting. At the site, we got lockers and helmets and then about a 20 minute uphill hike to the actual falls. It was so much fun jumping off of rocks into the water and getting to slide down. The water was good temperature for this time of the year. The only thing is that there were tons of visitors, and the lines to go from one to another was quite lengthy. There are supposed to be 27 falls, but we did about 7 of them, as the water level was low due to drought, and not enough time. Guides were very patient, at the end you can buy pictures of your group for $55. Expensive, but how often can you do something like this? Some people had their own cameras and recorders, but it was at your own risk.

    Damajagua Waterfalls: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.

How much does Damajagua Waterfalls cost?

    +

Prices start at $76 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Damajagua Waterfalls take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.

    Is Damajagua Waterfalls worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Damajagua Waterfalls?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Damajagua Waterfalls suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Damajagua Waterfalls?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Damajagua Waterfalls start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
