Shiyu was super friendly and amazing to spend time with in Shanghai. Her and her Dad give honest recommendations and a local service. Before I met up with her, communication was 10/10 over WhatsApp with Shiyu and her Dad in organizing my itinerary for our day. She also was able to conveniently order stuff for me on Taobao and have it delivered to my hotel ready for me to pick up. She was on time to meet me at my hotel, and getting around the city with metro and didi was easy. I made the mistake of wearing sleeveless shirt when we had plans to visit Jade Buddha temple. But she knew another entrance to avoid me having to buy a shoulder scarf and still be able to visit. On the spot, was also able to bring me to a tea shop to buy good quality tea leaves. She made me feel relaxed and prompted many good photo opportunities and spots with less crowds. Her rate is very reasonable, and it was worthwhile. I highly recommend for other solo travelers, especially women :)

Can’t be any better!
I highly recommend Ming and Shiyu Fan’s private tour services in Shanghai. The experience was outstanding, the value for money was excellent, and I left China wanting to experience more! The charges were all very transparent and reasonable. The photos that Shiyu and Ming take are very instagram-worthy. The choices of food places for lunches and dinners were great local places rather than tourist traps (food were good, prices were more than reasonable). Ming and Shiyu were also more than helpful for my journey prior to arriving in China by helping me set-up all the necessary phone apps for smooth travel (including Alipay, WeChat, and A-maps). If you are planning your trip to Shanghai soon, you will not be disappointed with Ming and Shiyu Fan’s tour services!

Excellent private guide in Shanghai
Excellent private guide in Shanghai We spent one full day sightseeing in Shanghai with Shiyu, and it was one of the best experiences of our trip to China. We visited three different places in China, and Shanghai became our favourite — largely thanks to her. Shiyu was professional, warm and very helpful throughout the day. She organized everything well, helped us use public transport, supported us with communication, and adjusted the pace so the day felt smooth and enjoyable, not rushed. What made the tour especially valuable was that she did not only show us the main sights. Thanks to Shiyu, we learned a lot about everyday life in China, including education, work, family life and local customs. We also had a very funny and natural exchange about cultural differences between our countries, which made the experience feel personal and authentic. Another highlight was the hot pot lunch she recommended. It was the best culinary experience of our entire visit to China — delicious, local, fun and something we probably would not have chosen so confidently without her help. One more thing we really appreciated was that Shiyu took beautiful photos for us during the tour. With her Huawei smartphone and great eye for composition, the pictures turned out much better than the ones we took with our own phones, and they became a wonderful additional memory from the day. We can highly recommend Shiyu to anyone visiting Shanghai. She made the city easy to understand, enjoyable to explore and much more meaningful for our family.

Highly recommend, personal bespoke tour with the very friendly Fan
I booked this tour without really knowing what to expect, but from the moment I confirmed my booking, I knew we were in good hands. Fan contacted me straight away to ask about our trip, what we wanted to see, and what we hoped to get out of the day. She worked her magic and created a bespoke itinerary tailored perfectly to us, even suggesting a few changes that took us away from the typical tourist spots and allowed us to experience the real Shanghai. She knew all the best locations for photos and exactly where to stand to capture some amazing memories that we'll treasure forever. We travelled between locations using Didi, which kept transport costs low, and she introduced us to local restaurants where we were able to try authentic Shanghai cuisine that we would never have found on our own. Fan's local knowledge, attention to detail, and friendly personality made this one of the highlights of our trip. If you're looking for a personalised experience that shows you the real Shanghai rather than just the usual tourist attractions, I couldn't recommend this private bespoke tour highly enough. She even got us a little gift. Traveled with my husband and 12 year old son. Visited Yu Garden, Jade Buddha, 1000 trees and Zhujiajiao water town.

Best Shanghai City Experience.
Best tour experience. Customized and flexible. Shiyu was very understanding when we had to postpone as my husband suddenly became ill. When we resumed a couple of days later, we went according to our pace and needs. Shiyu knew exactly where and when to go and provided suggestions. Highly recommended!
