Do not book thru Stay Charlottesville
I wish I had read the reviews warning about Stay Charlottesville’s customer service and professionalism before booking. Consider this your warning. Our daughter-in-law’s father was just diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to his bones. He is in tremendous pain as it has traveled up and down his spine and into the base of his skull. We had planned a weekend away to celebrate our son and daughter-in-law’s new marriage, including a winery tour booked through this company. Of course, the kids had to cancel to be with her family during this devastating time. I contacted Stay Charlottesville and offered to provide a letter from the oncologist, the hospital, or whatever documentation they needed. They were rude, showed zero empathy, and simply repeated their cancellation policy over and over. The owner actually said that making an exception for one person would be “unfair to others.” I understand policies exist for a reason, as people do cancel without good cause. But you cannot tell me that 90% of winery cancellations are due to a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. This was not a casual change of plans. As someone who has spent her entire life in a family business, I would never feel good doing this to a family going through something like this. The owner and the woman who answers the phone are arrogant, rude, and completely lacking in empathy. For $450, Stay Charlottesville chose to keep the money and show their true colors. I sincerely pray they never find themselves in a situation like this, needing understanding and kindness, only to be met with the same coldness they showed us. I will never use or recommend this company. Stay away.

Great Tour
Had a great experience with Monticello wine tour. They helped us curate our custom tour and made excellent recommendations based on my wish list for the day. Our driver, Mark, was super nice and knowledgeable about the area. Would highly recommend them for a relaxing visit.

We recently booked a private wine tour with friends through Monticello Wine Tours. Our "Experience Director" (because it feels a suiting title), Kmonte, was absolutely fantastic. He was personable, accommodating, professional, and ensured we had an amazing and relaxing day visiting Eastwood, Jefferson, and Blenheim Wineries. We will definitely book with Monticello Tours (and hopefully Kmonte) again! Note: We also highly recommend going on a Thursday if you enjoy more quiet, we were some of the only people at each winery.

Wonderful day at 3 wineries
We had a great wine tour with Monticello! Greg was our guide and he was very friendly and accommodating. He was a great host and driver! We felt safe and we were on time to all of our bookings. We kept to our schedule perfectly! Greg was able to give us recommendations for going out in Charlottesville and he gave us info on the wineries as well. Planning and scheduling the tour was simple and we were able to give input to create our perfect day. We were able to bring our belongings with us and enjoy our drive time as well as our time at the wineries. We would definitely do this again!

Girls Wine Trip
I had an amazing experience with Paige! The car was spotless, and Paige was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable. She knew exactly where to take us for some great wine spots, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire ride. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a smooth and pleasant journey with a touch of local expertise!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Charlottesville.
How much does Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof cost?
+
Prices start at $549 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Charlottesville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Charlottesville is not rushed.
Is Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Charlottesville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Charlottesville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Charlottesville and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Custom Wine Tour In Black Suburban With Panoramic Sunroof start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Charlottesville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Charlottesville?
+
Charlottesville, VA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Charlottesville by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Charlottesville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Virginia Private Custom Wine Tour from Charlottesville, Shenandoah National Park Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour, Private Charlottesville Area Wine Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Charlottesville?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Charlottesville, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Charlottesville?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
