What you'll see and do
North Head
North Head has pristine heathland (including seasonal wildflowers) and panoramic views of the entrance into Sydney Harbour. This headland is a tied island linked to Manly by a sandspit and has remnant military buildings, a memorial walk and a former quarantine station.

Barrenjoey Lighthouse
At Palm Beach we walk to the Barrenjoey lighthouse which was built in 1881. It dominates the headland and is a well maintained sandstone lighthouse. The walk to the lighthouse provides outstanding coastal views of Pittwater and Lion Island and a chance to see interesting sandstone formations and the Australian bush. After the lighthouse we will drive along Palm Beach and have the option of stopping at Summer Bay if you are a Home and Away (a long running tv series) devotee. We then take the back route and some wonderful coastal scenery.

Paddington Reservoir Gardens
The Paddington reservoir is a submerged structure that was built in 1864. A second chamber was added to the reservoir in 1876. It was constructed to store water pumped from a dam located at the Botany swamps. The columns in the reservoir were constructed from ironbark timber and supported segmental brick arches. The reservoir only operated until 1899. After this time it was used as a storage facility and for several decades it operated as a service station. However its roof collapsed and it ceased operating as a service station in 1990. In 2006 work began to restore the reservoir and convert it into a re-imagined space. Original brick, iron and timber fixtures were salvaged and the space that formerly stored water is now a serene area which includes a roof garden and a small pool and grassed area along with stairs allowing access to the area. Occasionally you will see wedding photos being taken in the area. The Paddington Reservoir is an oasis and a wonderful restoration project.

Barangaroo Reserve
Barangaroo is an inner city suburb of Sydney located on the north west side of Sydney’s CBD. It was formerly a container wharf area and has been -transformed into a residential and commercial hub. The suburb occupies 22 hectares and includes a 6 hectare headland park (Barangaroo Reserve) which was completed in 2015. The reserve is essentially an artificial hill, but it certainly doesn’t look like one. It was created by a clever feat of engineering and earthworks so that a massive void, known as The Cutaway, exists underneath the parkland above. The roof of the cutaway required the fabrication, transportation and installation of enormous concrete spans, which underpin thousands of cubic metres of rock, soil, grass and trees. The Cutaway provides a unique area for cultural events, exhibitions, television shoots, food events and large gatherings. This visit includes a pleasant walk on a flat path around a around the reserve providing wonderful harbour views.

G-Day stands for Great Day
Greg put in the extra work. Yes, he knows the natural areas and beautiful views around Sydney, but we had particular requests and Greg researched them and completely surpassed our hopes for a utterly memorable Aussie day.

Excellent tour of University of Sydney&surrounding. Educational,Fun and lovely for our family.
Nick is a wonderful guide, experience and friendly. We had a very good experience visiting University of Sydney, chatucak museum, potts point, Barangaroo and surrounding.The tour worth every dollars spent- it is what has been expected. Amazing guided tour
We were picked up by Greg at our hotel and he personally escorted us to many, and varied, sites. We were thrilled with the complete attention to our needs and wants during this time and Greg was willing to change up our list of sites to see based on our conversation during the time we were together. He was thoughtful and made a point of taking our photo in various places. We even got to watch a cricket match while enjoying a lovely picnic lunch. At the end of the day, we stopped at a micro-brewery before we were dropped off, again at our hotel. And in less than 12 hours after our trip, we've also gotten copies of the photos he took Thank you, Greg

Off-the-beaten-path... at Sydney's most well known Instagramable locations
Yeah, nah. This is not off-the beaten-path. Lol. Disappointing. White Rabbit is well known for having one of the best collections of modern Chinese art outside of China. USYD? Lol. 8,000 Chinese international students... about 60,000 local students. More like beating a dead horse than an unbeaten path. Grounds? Please. This is on every itinerary as a last point before heading to the airport. It's a cafe. But you already knew that. Won't be back until you add some real culture and local surprises to your itinerary.

The comments are critical of the places we have put forward to visit. We stand by all of the recommended places. They are interesting and stimulating venues. It would be a shame if visitors to Sydney did not visit at least some of these destinations. Sydney Nimble Tours (please see website) currently provides six tours. One of those tours, Inner Sydney Bespoke, lists seven places that can be visited in inner Sydney. A place listed in one of our other tours can also be included in the itinerary provided it is not located too far away (eg Blue Mountains). We seek input prior to the day and provide a draft day plan for your sign off. The tour reflects what our clients seek to see and do. We do hold a few places back from the list as we like the idea of surprising people with a few extra options.
