About this experience
You're in a special city. Why take an ordinary tour? This is the ONLY convertible MINI Cooper tour in the country! This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see. I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you! Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along. I love showing guests San Francisco, and talking about the history and culture of this unique and special city.

Native San Franciscan takes the tour and is WOW-ed !
I am a native of SF - lived there for 25+ years and came back to visit with a friend. It was so great to book the tour with Reed. He is fun, knowledgeable and it was a great bonus to leave the driving to someone else who knows the ins and outs of a City which has become more difficult to navigate. Have actually booked his tour TWICE, 6 months apart, with different friends, hitting his suggested City highlights and adding some custom stops. Definitely worth the money and I would highly recommend it. Also, I am 5’8 and sat in the back of the Cooper both times & was totally comfortable. This custom private tour is the way to go!
Response from the operator: Hi, I really love taking locals, or former locals, out for tours. Even if you've lived here a long time, there is always more to discover. Thanks for asking me to be a part of your San Francisco experience!

Fantastic car, fantastic tour
If you're looking for an extra special adventure whilst in San Francisco, I can highly recommend a tour with Reed. Great communication from the moment we messaged and the info you receive in return is excellent, plus there's no pressure to book - Reed is simply passionate about this wonderful city. We opted for just a two hour tour, partly because of budget but mainly because having toured around a little since arriving from the UK, we didn't want our daughter to be sat in a car for too long...but what a car to ride around in! Reed is charming, funny and his knowledge of the SF area is second to none; stop reading reviews and book.

Great trip
Reid is an excellent Guide and we had a 2 hour tour of the city which allowed us to get a great overview of where we wanted to explore further. It was good fun and we were able to visit where tour buses don’t.

Fantastic way to see the city
Absolutely fantastic, perfect if you're short of time or even if your not. This is a brilliant way to see the city and Reed was brilliant at filling in any gaps. Completely customisable, cannot recommend Reed's service enough

Small Car Big Time Tours
From start to finish this was a fabulous tour, we loved travelling around in Reed’s convertible mini on a sunny day. Reed’s knowledge & enthusiasm of SF was exceptional and a perfect gentleman too. We requested a few places we wished to visit and left the rest to Reed, we weren’t disappointed, photo stops too. We recommend booking this tour directly with Reed at smallcarbigtimes, you won’t be disappointed.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.
How much does Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper cost?
+
Prices start at $270 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.
Is Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 236 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper?
+
Around 83 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Custom Private Tour in Convertible MINI Cooper start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Francisco?
+
San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Francisco?
+
September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Francisco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
