Cusco to Machu Picchu By Car

Amazing tour, very helpful

I booked the tour directly with Carlos after a friend’s recommendation. He did an amazing job organizing it for me and my family. My dad has accessibility needs and walks with a walker. Carlos was very helpful accommodating him and so was his guide Giovanna who was very patient with us as he did the circuit 2 slowly. Carlos was very clear with whats included and whats not included and I appreciated his transparency.

Machu Picchu incredible

Carlos was incredible however as a solo traveller speaking English it was quite difficult to navigate. Carlos was the only person who spoke English all other tour guides in between were Spanish. I’d also advise getting the train if you’re not a fan of walking long distances.

Carlos was an absolute lifesaver and a true professional. My wife and I had a last-minute opportunity to visit Machu Picchu, and Carlos made the impossible happen. "Completely Disorganized and Frustrating Experience – Not Recommended!

Our experience with this provider was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The communication was chaotic, unprofessional, and full of contradictions. We were promised a smooth process, but instead, we were left constantly confused and had to ask for basic information over and over again. They claimed there would be a guide on-site, but in reality, nothing was properly organized. Instead of proper support, we were met with disorganization and a complete lack of structure. We felt abandoned and like they were just trying to wing it as they went along. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially for such an important and costly trip like Machu Picchu. The offer to refund 20 soles feels almost like a joke in li"Completely Disorganized and Frustrating Experience – Not Recommended!"ght of the chaos we had to endure. We are very upset and cannot recommend this provider to anyone.

Response from the operator: I explained to you that now Machu Picchu is completely full, that there are no entrances and all the tourists have to wait in line for them to enable us the spaces to visit and the tour guide can not be with you all the time in the line, there are several tourists who arrive and have the same problem that they do not have entrances for Machu Picchu and that the guided ones only give on Route 2 and I sent you an audio explaining why there was no guide on Route 1 and Route 3 ... you were given Route 3 and your entrance at 7 am and at that time there are no guided ones because Machu Picchu appears covered in clouds but I told you we are going to refund you 20 soles for the guide service, sorry if you did not understand that the lines to wait to enter Machu Picchu are long but that is done by the Ministry of Culture not the agency, we sent you several photos of what the entire group is waiting with you for the entrance for 3 days but you do not understand, before you pay for the tour I explained to you all about the tour

Do not book this!

I would 100% not recommend this trip. It stated that it includes entrance to machu pichu , which it does not. They gave us poor (no) information about the train from hydroelectric to aguas calientes, which caused us to miss the train, and since my girlfriend had terrible blisters at the time, we were forced to do the 5 mile hike with her in socks. The hotel that was included was the worst part. The rooms and bed were sopping wet and the mattress and shower curtain were covered in black mold. And since they gave us such poor information, we were forced to miss our 2:30pm bus back to Cusco, since our machu pichu tour was at 3pm. So it was either pay for another night in a different hotel, or get the 9pm train back to Cusco which cost us 160USD. They also changed the time of our initial departure from 8am to 6:30 am to meet at plaza de armas, but they were actually 3 blocks away, so we almost missed the trip entirely all together. Then they loaded us into a bus without any sort of a tour guide, so there was no one to give us any information during the 7 hour bus ride. All in all, we had to pay for our entrance tickets, bus tickets up to the top of machu pichu to actually see the park and then pay for the train back, as well as an extra night in a hotel all due to lack of info. So basically we paid 186USD for one 7 hour bus ride and a night in the absolute worst hotel situation we have ever experienced. This tour screwed us.

I spoke to you on WhatsApp, I spoke to you and your girlfriend and I told you how the tour was, I explained the bus times, I explained how the entrance fees to Machu Picchu were obtained and the hours of walking 11 kilometers and you were hesitating about going on the tour and I told you you can cancel the tour 3 times I told you you can cancel the tour but your girlfriend agreed to go on the tour, you knowing all these things take your girlfriend on an adventure tour with hikes and she has blisters on her feet, you are the irresponsible one if you told me my girlfriend had blisters I would never have sent you on an adventure tour, but everything was explained to you, I did it myself and we have the WhatsApp messages as proof but many tourists stubbornly go on tours that are not for them knowing all the details in the end you only give a negative comment about something that you knew at the beginning you were not going to like ... very irresponsible of you to take your girlfriend with blisters to walk 11 kilometers
