What you'll see and do
Maras Moray Tours
This is a fantastic Half-Day tour to explore the Sacred Valley. You will see amazing views of the "Urubamba" mountain ranges, the Veronica mountain and the green valleys of farms. On this half day trip, you will be able to learn about agriculture, textiles, and the history of the Incas. We will pick you up from your hotel around 8:35 a.m. and head to the farming laboratory in Moray. This beautiful drive is about 1 hour and 20 minutes. On your drive, you will see the Snow-Capped Mountains of the Andes, lush yellow fields of wheat, and some villages. Finally, you will arrive at the fascinating display of terraces in Moray. Moray boasts three amphitheater-like terraces, made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth, in the shape of a bowl, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. When you are done exploring Moray, you will head about two miles away, to the Salt Mines of "Maras". This village is known as a former salt-producing center and is thought to date back all the way to pre-Incan times. There are more than 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountain side, that are filled daily by a stream of water. This spectacular area is perfect for you if you wish to see something different than the ruins. Once you are done with the visit, you will head back to the city in time to enjoy some lunch on your own.

Nice place
We did a day trip to this place. Both places were nice and view was amazing. Everything was well organized and the view was breathtaking

Rush rush rush
The tour was okay. 30 minutes at each locale and one store for shopping. More self time in locations would be better.

Good but too much time in random shops
The tour was beautiful and the sacred valley and the salt mines were great. We also enjoyed getting to see how the alpaca and llama sweaters and blankets were made. The big issue was that our driver and guide wouldn’t let us have any time to shop or look at anything at the actual viewpoints, but made us wait 1/2 hour or more at places that they “knew about”. We would have preferred to look at the shops at the salt mine instead of the ones the drivers forced us to go to because they knew the owners and likely got kickbacks. I get that’s how it works with places like this but they would leave us for 30 minutes at shops to try and get us to buy something while not giving us enough time at the actual tour places like the sacred valley and salt mine. Overall beautiful but treat us like people and not money bags! Lol

Exceptional
The tour was very impressive, it was nice to walk around and see the sites and get a first hand information. It was a good trip and Fredy the guide was the best. He shared so many things those I did not find in any guide books or online. Worth it

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cusco: Maras, Moray & Salineras Salt Mines Exclusive Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
