Highly recommended!
This was an excellent and informative experience. My family and I visited a homestead in a small village near Vic Falls. They described their typical day, lifestyle and how they are balancing their traditional culture with today’s world. Also they showed us how they are being innovative on alternative energy and girls’ education projects. Highly recommended!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌍 We’re delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed the Cultural Village Tour and found it both educational and inspiring. It’s always rewarding to know that our guests appreciate learning about local traditions, daily life, and the innovative community projects taking place in the village. Your recommendation means a lot to us and to the villagers who take pride in sharing their culture with visitors. We hope to welcome you again soon for another meaningful experience in Victoria Falls! Warm regards,

Fascinating eye-opener to life in Zimbabwe
Our visit to the village of Monde was a fascinating eye-opener to life in Zimbabwe. Only 15 minutes away by car, Monde feels like another world compared with the tourism bubble of Vic Falls. We had a fascinating hour or so with the head of a family homestead who explained aspects of farming life, the culture of the local ethnic groups and how the cow manure biogas system works. Then we visited a school where the kids were lovely but the resources were sorely lacking. Tip: buy groceries to take as gifts (your guide can advise) and be prepared to be asked for a cash donation to the school. Also consider taking clothes you may no longer need - it will help the local people and lighten your bags for the journey home!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your thoughtful and insightful review. 🌍 We’re so glad to hear that your visit to Monde Village was such a fascinating and eye-opening experience. It’s wonderful that you appreciated learning about local farming life, cultural traditions, and the innovative biogas system — as well as spending time with the welcoming community and schoolchildren. We also truly appreciate your kind and practical suggestions for future visitors — gestures like bringing groceries, clothing, or small donations make a meaningful difference to the community. Thank you once again for visiting and for helping to support and celebrate local life here in Zimbabwe. We hope to welcome you again in the future for another enriching experience. Warm regards,

Lots to learn from this tour
This tour gave us a great insight into village life. Molitha was a lovely lady - so friendly and happy to answer all our questions and honestly describe the difficulties she can sometimes face. The school visit was equally informative and the children were so polite, enthusiatic and smiley.
Response from the operator: Great that you enjoyed our tour to the village. Thank you for putting your trust in our services.

Worst Viator Ever - Worthless "Guide"
This was the worst Viator we have ever had. Description of the 20 min ride to and from village was only thing that was accurate. From pickup back to our room was 1 hour total, even though the touir description was that it was to last approximately 3 hours! We had a young woman show us some of the village. No details on their daily life, nothing about ceremonies, nothing about chiefdom's roll, never offered to visit school (weather was perfect). Not offered anything regarding meals or activitieds in village. Only "activity" displayed was making a single mud brick for a new hut being built. Our "guide" who drove us to/from village spoke limited english, couldn't answer any questions (even what we would be doing/seeing on the tour), didn't go with us through the tour, and was silent for most of the ride to/from the village, unless we attempted to ask a question (that was not answered). We were never offered even a bottle of water from the driver/guide. This had the potential to be a great tour, to learn about the local people and their lives. We looked forward to this tour especially as we sponsor a little boy from Zambia (similar culture).
Response from the operator: We sincerely apologize for the subpar experience you encountered during your recent tour. Regrettably, a new driver who was unfamiliar with the itinerary inadvertently led to disruptions in the tour schedule. This situation was further compounded by our arrival at the village coinciding with an important gathering of the elderly residents. We understand the frustration and disappointment this must have caused and acknowledge that this falls short of the standard of service we strive to provide. We deeply value your feedback as it highlights areas where we need to improve our communication and coordination processes to ensure seamless and enriching experiences for all our guests. Please know that we are actively addressing these issues internally to prevent such occurrences in the future. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we hope for the opportunity to make it right and showcase the true quality of our tours on any future visits you may consider.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Victoria Falls.
How much does Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip) cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Victoria Falls usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip) take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Victoria Falls is not rushed.
Is Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Victoria Falls, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Victoria Falls can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Victoria Falls and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cultural Village Tour,Interacting With the Communal Villagers (Educational Trip) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Victoria Falls within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Victoria Falls?
+
On Outty we rank every Victoria Falls experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Tour of the Falls (Zimbabwe side), Zambezi River Class IV-V White-Water Rafting from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe & Zambia: Guided Tour of the Falls from Both Sides. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Victoria Falls?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Victoria Falls?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
