Nice jungle hike
Nice hike through jungle on a path with lots of steps. Happy was a great tour guide, grew up here and knew the area well. Not much wildlife or birds seen, but lots of butterflies. Would probably skip the primate, turtle and bear rescue. Little more than a few animals in enclosures.

Amaizing quiet and wild place
The experience was great. After staying in the crowded Hanoi Old Quarter, it’s totally worth escaping to a quiet, wild place. The trail is not difficult, but you do need to climb quite a few stairs. Also, keep in mind the recommendations about what clothes and shoes to wear. The guide was good and sociable. The transportation was okay-ish (the minibus was a bit old).

day trek into Cuc Phuong National Park
Mr. Hung led our family on a wonderful private tour of the Cuc Phuong National Park. We trekked in the jungle to see ancient trees, we visited the ancient cave, and also the primate rehabilitation center. We learned a lot of Vietnam history as we journeyed to the park. It was a long day but well spent. Highly recommend a visit to the park and Mr. Hung!

Worth it! Lovely day ☺️
Really excellent experience! Tour guide was really nice and informative. Really great physical experience (not for people who don’t live physically activity as you will climb almost 1000 steps!), but for nature and sports lovers this is an excellent hike! Also got to see the monkey and turtle reserves. Thank you so much!

Rainy trekking adventure
My adult daughter and I went on the Cuc Phuong day trip. The day ended up being the two of us, our driver, and our guide, Jack as it was rainy. They picked us up at our hotel. It was a 2.5 hour drive that was nice watching the sights from the van. We made one stop to buy souvenirs and grab smoothies and a sandwich to go. On the way Jack told us a lot about the history and the present culture of Vietnam and was great about answering our questions. We climbed a lot of very narrow and steep stairs to a historic cave. It was definitely worth the climb just be sure you are sure footed and have decent balance if you participate in this site. The trek in the jungle was terrific! You need long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and a rain jacket. The jungle was lush and interesting. Jack did a good job pointing out some of the flora and fauna and it was fun exchanging Vietnamese and English words for the plants and trees. Honestly the rain added to the experience. The jungle sounds and the patter of the rain were serene. When it rains there are tiny leeches in some parts of the forest that like to get on your shoes. You do need to stop and pick them off periodically or have a spray or even better wear rubber boots instead of tennis shoes. The turtle and primate sanctuary were very interesting. It’s a good idea to bring a few items with you like an extra water, a change of shoes for the drive home, and dry clothes in case of rain. I would definitely recommend this trek!

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates cost?
+
Prices start at $42 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cuc Phuong National Park Private Day Tour: Trekking & Primates start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
