    About this experience

Tap into the best way to see Juneau - a brewery & city tour serving up a uniquely Juneau, uniquely Alaskan experience, nothing watered-down here! We’ll hop across town, pairing sips with the stories and sights that make Juneau one-of-a-kind. With a small group, you’ll tap into three distinctly different breweries in three different corners of Juneau, and along the way, taste the flavors of Alaska with Barnacle Foods’ kelp salsa. We’ll explore stunning scenic stops - Brotherhood Bridge with its epic Mendenhall Glacier backdrop, and Juneau’s iconic Whale on the waterfront - perfect for photos that capture the scale and beauty of the Last Frontier. We visit Alaskan Brewing Company, and Forbidden Peak Brewing on every tour! We alternate between Harbor Mountain Brewing and Devil's Club Brewing. This tour is a fun and social experience. Beer tour from hell!!

We were picked up in a fully loaded van with a broken air conditioning system. I was crammed in the back, it was probably 98 degrees and I was dripping pouring with sweat. We stopped at the first brewery, and I was reluctant to get back in the van. The tour guide told us she would wind down a window and drive the van around the block to cool it down, none of the windows in the mid section or back would wind down. I got back in the van van and it was now down to 94 degrees or so, then the tour guide told us the next stop was 25 mins away, i honestly thought I was going to pass out. The motor on the van then died and couldn’t make it up a steep hill. We all disembarked at a cemetery, yes I had to sit around in a cemetery while they tried to get another van. The tour guide asked us to walk to a whale statue a short distance away, it ended up being well over a mile walk and I have a bad knee and can’t walk far. My knee swelled up as big as a grapefruit once we reached the whale statue, it was quite painful. I explained that I had dinner reservations and I’d be missing them if I stayed on the tour, I also explained to the tour guide that I had to get back on the cruise ship to take pain meds/anti inflammatory meds for my knee as result of this tour. I paid $20 to another tour bus to take us back to town. The owner of the tour company showed up with another van 1/2 later or so (unknown if the air or engine were working properly on the replacement van). The tour guide asked the owner if there was anything he would do/refund etc. the owner just stared me down stone faced, I got the message, there would be no refund, not even the $20 i payed to get back on the ship. Ive since texted the owner twice requesting a refund, with no communication for him. BEWARE, STAY AWAY From the BEER TOUR FROM HELL!!

Response from the operator: We are very sorry to read this review. We are a small, family-run operation, and it is difficult to hear that you had such a frustrating experience. This was the first time our van has ever experienced a mechanical issue. It turned out that the overflow coolant tank had a leak which was the cause of the lack of AC and loss of power. Our guide did the safe thing by pulling over at the cemetery (one of our local historical parks where Joe Juneau is buried) rather than continuing to operate the vehicle. We were glad to have a backup van to the group within 30 minutes so the tour could continue, make all of the scheduled stops, and end on time. The whale statue is one of our normal stops, and since it was a nice day (a rare occurrence here), we felt that walking the group the 0.5 miles there was a reasonable way to make the best of an unfortunate situation and stay on schedule while we arranged the replacement vehicle. We take mobility issues very seriously and are committed to accommodating our guests in every way that we can. I would like to clarify that had we understood this solution was going to cause you any pain, we would have found an alternative that did not involve walking. We sincerely regret that this unexpected vehicle issue negatively impacted your experience. We do want to make this right by providing a full refund for your tour and reimbursing the $20 transportation cost. However, we never received any communication from you to identify your booking, so we were not able to process a refund. Please contact us directly through the Viator portal or at info@alaskaontap.com so we can locate your booking and process your refund and reimbursement. Thank you, Katie & Peter Nave

    Fun way to see Juneau

This was a fun way to experience, Juneau. There are lots of sites to see along the route and we received flights at every brewery so we were able to try a large variety of beer. It was fun getting to know the other people on the tour. Our guide was amazing.

Our tour guide Scott was amazing, really understood the different beers and was able to connect with the guests. Turns out he is a musical artist. Ask him to play one of his records, really sets the mood for this tour perfectly.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the great review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the beer and the experience. Cheers! 🍻

Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.

How much does Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.

Is Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 86 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour?

    +

Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 3.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Craft Brews & Epic Views: Juneau's Brewery & Sightseeing Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Juneau?

    +

Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Whales and Wilderness Exploration. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Juneau?

    +

May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Juneau?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
