Great day!! Definitely recommend

Decent price for a whole day trip, the van has space for luggage so good for people who want to stay in Launceston after the trip. We got Mark as our guide and he was amazing!! He was very knowledgeable, had lots to share with us and was happy to answer any questions we had. We were a small group and Mark made sure that we were all included whenever he was sharing something. Would bring my parents again when they’re here.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your day at Cradle Mountain and found the tour comfortable and informative. It's lovely to hear you'd bring your parents along next time. Hope to welcome you all to Tassie in the future.

Great experience

It was a long drive from Hobart to Cradle mountain, so I wish that we have more time to explore the cradle mountain by hiking. Our tour guide, Mark, is very friendly and professional by explaining and introducing the history of Tasmania. I did see wombat at the Cradle mountain which was lovely. Definitely recommend friends and family to book this tour.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your day at Cradle Mountain and appreciated Mark's informative guiding. Hope to welcome you back to Tassie in the future.

Worth every minute of the journey ⭐️

I had a fantastic day trip to Cradle Mountain and would highly recommend it. Our guide, Mark, was incredibly knowledgeable and a great storyteller. He shared interesting facts throughout the journey and made sure everyone felt comfortable, included, and engaged. The drive was long, but the stops in the small towns helped break it up. The view of Cradle Mountain was absolutely breathtaking and worth every minute of the journey. We also did a short walk through the Enchanted Forest, which was so peaceful. One of the highlights of the day was having a very close encounter with a wombat in the wild. Definitely worth it and highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Response from the operator: Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We're delighted Mark's storytelling and knowledge helped make the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. It's wonderful to hear Cradle Mountain, the Enchanted Forest, and your wombat encounter were such memorable highlights. Hope your next visit to Tassie brings more great memories.

Shout out to Gray!

Huge thanks to our amazing guide and driver, Gray, for making this trip so wonderful. Throughout the whole journey, he shared so much practical information, and the pace of the entire itinerary was incredibly smooth. The real highlight of his exceptional service happened at the very end. I completely spaced out and missed the first drop-off at the Launceston Transit Centre. Gray was an absolute lifesaver! He went above and beyond to make sure I still caught my connecting bus right on time. Truly grateful for his kindness and professionalism—highly recommend him!

Response from the operator: Thanks for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We're delighted Gray's knowledge and care made such a positive impact on your trip, and we're especially pleased he was able to help you catch your connecting bus. Hope to welcome you back again at Tassie.

Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hobart.

How much does Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $275 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hobart usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hobart is not rushed.

Is Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Hobart, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hobart can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hobart and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cradle Mountain - Hobart to Launceston Day Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hobart within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hobart?

+

On Outty we rank every Hobart experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus- Return Tour (2.5 hours), All Inclusive Bruny Island Day Tour Plus Guided Lighthouse Tour, Bruny Island Traveller - Gourmet Tasting and Sightseeing Day Trip from Hobart. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hobart?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hobart?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
