If you love fresh seafood can't miss this excursion!
If you love freshly caught seafood excellently prepared for your dining pleasure than this excursion is well worth the price. Yes, it' s not inexpensive but considering the high quality and value seafood that one gets [Tasmanian rock lobster, uni (sea urchin), abalone, salmon, periwinkles (snails), oysters and mussels] with accompanying side dishes, including smoked salmon, and drinks, you really get your money's worth. What was really great was that the uni, abalone and periwinkles were freshly caught off the boat. For a number of the seafood they were prepared using different techniques including eating sashimi style and cooked with various sauces or just simply steamed. The variety of cooking styles was really appreciated as one could appreciate the nuances in taste of the seafood. They also go out of their way to please you and have lots of great stories to tell (especially from Shawn), including the visit with celebrity Chef Gordan Ramsey. What was also great is how accommodating the staff are to your desires, as we asked for the salmon head to be cooked and they obliged (wonderful eating). Since we booked directly with the operator they were also able to accommodate some food allergies that we have. Julie was really helpful with this and even provided recommendations for dining in Hobart which was really appreciated.
Response from the operator: It was lovely to have you both join us on board. Hopefully the dining experiences we suggested met your expectations. We appreciated your correspondence with us before and after the tour and really hope we see both of you on board again in the future.

Awesome day. Easy to book, great communication. Easy to locate. The 4 staff were friendly and informative and attentive. The seafood was amazing and prepared and presented well. The boat was clean and comfortable. The atomosphere was relaxed with 15 guests. Would recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you for joining us and also for taking the time to review our seafood cruise. We are quietly working in the background while we create a new experience that will be released at the end of 2026. Hopefully we will see you on board for this tour.

Amazing !,
Amazing adventure, great crew that were welcoming, professional and made you feel at ease with their friendly and knowledgeable manner. Plenty of every dish that was on offer and opportunity to try your hand at Oyster shucking etc. The prep and cooking demos were the main attraction, got to see and then eat, Abalone, Sea Urchin roe, Periwinkle, Salmon, Oysters, Crays and so much more along with wine, beer, soft drinks and Tea/ Coffee. Great value for money and a must- do while in Hobart.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to join us and for writing such a wonderful review. We appreciate your involvement and enjoyment of our tour.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hobart.
How much does Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $426 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hobart usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hobart is not rushed.
Is Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 103 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Hobart, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hobart can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hobart and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Deep-to-Dish: Tasmanian Seafood Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hobart within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hobart?
+
On Outty we rank every Hobart experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus- Return Tour (2.5 hours), Full-Day Guided Bruny Island Tour from Hobart, All Inclusive Bruny Island Day Tour Plus Guided Lighthouse Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hobart?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hobart?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
