The Absolute Best Way to See Cozumel!
What an incredible day exploring Cozumel with Leo and Ben! Our group of 16 arrived by cruise ship for the day, and after researching private excursions, I contacted Tours Plaza to help create something special. Eduardo was extremely responsive and easy to coordinate with before our trip, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The moment we met Leo and Ben at the port, their warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm immediately stood out. We hopped into two comfortable vans and began an unforgettable journey around the island. Along the way, they shared fun stories, local history, and fascinating insights about Cozumel with a great sense of humor that kept everyone entertained. One of the highlights of the day was visiting beautiful Punta Sur, where we enjoyed breathtaking scenery, nature, and the peaceful atmosphere of the island’s protected national park. Later, we headed to the quieter side of Cozumel for a delicious lunch at El Pescador, a perfect spot to relax by the ocean and enjoy authentic island vibes away from the crowds. Throughout the day, Leo and Benjamin made everyone feel welcomed and taken care of. Their passion for the island truly made the experience feel personal and unique. We returned to the cruise port exactly on time, stress-free and full of amazing memories. Everyone in our group absolutely loved the tour and agreed it was far better — and much more affordable — than the cruise line excursions. I highly recommend Tours Plaza to anyone looking for a more authentic and enjoyable way to experience Cozumel. Thank you again for making our day so memorable!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are very happy to hear you and your group had an amazing day with Leo and Ben. We truly appreciate your trust in Tours Plaza and hope to welcome you back to Cozumel someday!

Cozumel Fun
Gerry was an excellent tour guide! We spent 7 hours exploring Cozumel. We did a chocolate tour, Mayan bee sanctuary tour, pueblo de maiz, downtown historic sites, coastal drives with stops at beaches, and even bird watching! Bonus: saw crocodiles. Had dinner at a local seafood restaurant, which was amazing: conch, lobster, grouper, shrimp, and octopus. It was a perfect day. Our tour guide was amazing!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a perfect day exploring Cozumel. Gerry will be so happy to know you enjoyed the tour—from the chocolate experience and Mayan bee sanctuary to downtown sights, beaches, wildlife, and that incredible seafood dinner. Seeing crocodiles was definitely a bonus! We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon.

Worst Vacation Experience in Cozumel
Booked this tour trough Viator who arranged for this Cozumel Shore Excursion Company. They were the worst. Being seniors it was hard to get into the vehicle and my husband fell into the van and hurt his back but tried to continue with the tour but after 45 minutes we had to cancel the tour. Paid the driver a full gratuity and hope for some kind of a refund without success, $342.00 lost. The van was dirty the seats were patched with tape and the driver keep it ice cold. What a disappointment. Viator a TripAdvisor company refused a refund.
Response from the operator: Hello, We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and regret that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand how upsetting this must have been, especially given the circumstances you describe. We take this feedback seriously and would like to review the situation. Please contact us directly with your booking details so we can look into this matter and see if there is a way to address your concerns. Kind regards, Plaza Tours Team

A lovely tour at Cozumel
We took a 3 hour tour. We requested to see the Chocolate factory, the Mayan Bee Sanctuary and a local market. Our driver, Cantaro , we extremely friendly and helpful. He did a short "overview" tour around the city and then we did a "Tasting" at the chocolate place which ended up just being our group of 5 and was really enjoyable. We then went to the Mayan Bee place and had a tour there. My father keeps bees and he really enjoyed this. It was interesting and we all thought it was worthwhile. There is a small shop at the bee sanctuary where a stoneworker and his family sell their items. We ended up doing a little shopping there. Our last stop was the central square and the markets/stalls around it. We didn't end up getting anything there, but it was nice to walk around. We were there on Christmas Eve, so there were decorations around the area. The tour was exactly what we wanted it to be and we felt the price was fair and the service was great.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed and wonderful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed your time with Cantaro and that the tour was just what you were looking for. It’s great to hear your father especially enjoyed the Mayan Bee Sanctuary experience! We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back again soon in Cozumel!

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver cost?
+
Prices start at $173 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 326 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver?
+
Around 114 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cozumel Shore Excursion: 5-Hour Sightseeing Tour with Private Driver start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
