Well worth your time
Geronimo was so passionate and informed about Mexican food and cooking and how different foods impact the body, together with the delicious and plentiful dishes that tasted so good from simple ingredients, that he changed my mind about Mexican food. I was never a big seeker of Mexican food because where I live, there are only your standard Mexican servings that are kind of bland and not bad but not great. Now I realize there is a lot more to Mexican food, a lot of pride and good flavors. The market shopping was a good way to see something local too. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We’re thrilled to hear that cooking with Jeronimo gave you a whole new perspective on Mexican cuisine. He truly loves sharing the depth, flavors, and traditions behind the food, and it’s wonderful to know that came through during your class. We’re also glad you enjoyed the market visit and seeing a bit of local life. We really appreciate your recommendation and your kind words.

Fabulous, authentic, seasonal cuisine
You will not only learn to cook some fabulous, authentic Mexican cuisine, but you will be involved in the selection of the fresh ingredients and learn about their nutritional value! The only thing better is consuming what you created🥰
Response from the operator: Doug, thank you for your 5-star review. We’re so glad you enjoyed being part of the entire process, from selecting the fresh ingredients to preparing the dishes together. Learning about the ingredients and then enjoying the meal you created is truly one of the best parts of the experience. We appreciate you taking the time to share, and we would love to welcome you back on your future visits to the Island.

We learned so much about the island, the country, the food and....we ate like we were at a gourmet restaurant!!!!!!!
We met Jeronimo at the Juan Benito Juarez statue at exterior of Mercado Municipal. This gentleman was so informative and interesting, explaining the history of different foods in market and the uses. He discussed with us to give us options for our cooking class, asking us what we like to personalize our experience. Then, we headed to his kitchen where tiny but powerful Angie was there to greet us. She was always busy, prepping, cooking, cleaning as we went! Jeronimo was explaining everything, always happy to answer all our many questions!!!!!! He loves his country, so proud to share and making us feel so special! O, and the food was 5 star!!!! Honestly, any fine dining restaurant would serve this, easily!!!!!! Angie even made the Marguerita from scratch, and the juice.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed meeting Jeronimo and learning about the ingredients and food traditions in Mexico with him. It’s great to know the class felt personal and that Jeronimo and Angie helped create such a welcoming and engaging atmosphere in the kitchen. We’re especially happy you loved the food and the freshly made margaritas. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again on your future visits to the island.

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cozumel Cooking Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Cozumel Cooking Class cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cozumel Cooking Class take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Cozumel Cooking Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 152 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cozumel Cooking Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cozumel Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Cozumel Cooking Class?
+
Around 53 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cozumel Cooking Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
