Walking in the Costa Blanca hills

This was a fantastic 360 traverse of Sierra de Bernia, which involved different views of the stunning Valencia countryside Culminating in the passage through the access tunnel from one side to the other. Our guide for the day was Kristina, who provided a vast knowledge of the mountain and history of the region and the flora and fauna. She guided us with total confidence through dome tricky areas. By enlarge,it's an experience we would do again.

Disappointed

This is a challenging review to write because as others have attested, Kris is terrific in many ways. Unfortunately, there are also some major issues that need to be addressed. Kris is friendly, enthusiastic, and a highly experienced international climber and hiking guide. We truly enjoyed getting to know her and hearing her fascinating stories! The problem was that we booked the Relleu footbridge hike, and after Kris picked us up at the tram station, and we walked several kilometers to the reservoir and bridge, we learned that it was closed due to potential wind. Kris had checked the national forecast which was only a yellow alert, but apparently, the local forecast was an orange level alert. Although we had a nice afternoon visiting the town of Relleu and grabbing a bite to eat with Kris, we were deeply disappointed not to have gotten to do the hike we paid 90 euros to do. We wish Kris had checked with the local authorities, given that the area had been having high winds for a number of days. Additionally, as a Valentine's gift to my husband, I booked the summit hike of Puig Campana for him with Kris. After she picked my husband up at the tram, Kris noted that she was having some knee pain, and after they, along with one other hiker, drove to the trailhead, Kris read a text from a doctor saying she should be seen. Of course, neither my husband nor the other hiker would dream of asking Kris to lead them up the mountain with an injury, so the hike was canceled. Again, we wish Kris had simply canceled earlier, before my husband had to take a 2-hour round-trip tram ride! We wish Kris all the best and hope that she works to improve these logistical issues.

Response from the operator: Dear Joanne and Mike, thanks a lot for your review and feedback. I'm deeply sorry that the walks didn't work out as planned. The walk to "Relleu" was a massive surprise for me as well. I've checked the page of the "Pasarela de Relleu" and there was nothing mentioned that the "Pasarela" was closed due to wind on the day. I've checked as well the national forecast and no weather alerts for the area at all. That alerts on the regional page overrule the national alerts was new to me as it has never happened before. The regional alert was given out for the whole Valencian Community which is a massive area. I go after the weather on the day which was very good for the planned walk. Unfortunately, as this walk includes an attraction which is run by the local council, the walk couldn't be operated as planned. I'm honestly really sorry that it didn't work out as planned. And, yes, the price is 90 € for two people, but we operate the walk as well for just 2 people. That you couldn't visit the "Pasarela" is definitely a pity, but this attraction is just one part of the walk. For the other walk, I'm deeply sorry that I couldn't operate the walk as planned and preferred to get checked by a doctor. Honestly, I've thought I'm able to operate the walk otherwise I would have cancelled, but the text to see a doctor immediately due to the fact that it could have been a sepsis alarmed me. I've still offered to do the walk, but your husband and the other client both agreed that I should listen to my doctor. I was aware that your husband came by tram to the pick-up area and I'm deeply sorry that he had to take the ride without doing the walk. I'm honestly very sorry that the walks didn't work out as planned. However, I would have preferred to receive such feedback personally and not on webpage as all complaints can easily handled on the day, but not weeks later. Kind regards, Kris

A fabulous walk in a beautiful area. Kris, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. A small group of 7 meant that we were all able to join in conversation and we had a delicious meal at a bar in the village square. Highly recommended. Sara (UK)

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your review of our guided walk to the "Pasarela de Relleu". We are happy that you've enjoyed the day out with us getting to know the "real" Costa Blanca.

Mountain climb not a walk

This is a mountain walk which requires a good level of fitness. Amazing views at the top . Very experienced guide but pace too fast for us .

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your review. We offer walks for all levels. The "Sierra de Bernia" is classed as a moderate mountain walk. All moderate walks require some walking experience and some level of fitness. So far as we are aware of, the guide of the day has perceived you as good and steady walkers. Therefore, we are sorry that you've perceived the speed as too fast for you.

Costa Blanca Guided Walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Benidorm.

How much does Costa Blanca Guided Walk cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Benidorm usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Costa Blanca Guided Walk take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Benidorm is not rushed.

Is Costa Blanca Guided Walk worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Benidorm, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Costa Blanca Guided Walk?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Costa Blanca Guided Walk suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Costa Blanca Guided Walk?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Benidorm can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Benidorm and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Costa Blanca Guided Walk start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Benidorm within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Benidorm?

+

On Outty we rank every Benidorm experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayak and snorkel excursion to Cova Tallada, Benidorm Bike Tour with Hotel Pick up, Costa Blanca Full-Day Off Road Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Benidorm?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Benidorm?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
