Great date idea
I really love this concept! I'm tired of always having to force my boyfriend to do things with me, but this is what he volunteered to do! 5/5 stars from here
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing review! We absolutely love hearing that the concept could win over even the most “selectively enthusiastic” partners 😄🔎 That’s honestly one of the best compliments we can get. We’re really happy you both had such a great time together — and a 5/5 from a united team like that means a lot! Hope to see you again for another adventure where nobody has to be convinced twice 😉

Disappointing Experience – Not a Real Treasure Hunt
Disappointing Experience – Not a Real Treasure Hunt I was really looking forward to this activity, but unfortunately it fell far short of expectations. The experience didn’t resemble a treasure hunt at all, there was no walking around the city, no solving clues, and no sense of mystery or discovery. Everything felt static and unengaging. For something marketed as interactive and team‑building, it was surprisingly passive. Our group didn’t collaborate, compete, or problem-solve together in any meaningful way. It felt more like a basic indoor activity than an adventure. Overall, it wasn’t worth the time or cost. If you’re expecting an immersive treasure hunt that gets your team exploring, thinking, and working together, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
Response from the operator: Dear Olivia, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. Our self-guided murder mystery by Amalienborg Palace is designed as a story-driven investigation where participants explore the surrounding area at their own pace while solving clues connected to the historical setting. However, we understand that if you were expecting a more traditional, competitive treasure hunt format with stronger team-building elements, the experience may have felt different from what you had in mind. We genuinely appreciate your comments regarding interactivity and group collaboration, as this is very valuable feedback for us. We are continuously working on improving both the clarity of our descriptions and the experience itself to ensure it aligns with our guests’ expectations. If you would like to share more details about your experience, we would be very happy to hear from you directly. Thank you again for your honest review, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Kind regards, Rasmus

They copy their games from one city to another.
Do npt try this if you tried this in an other city. They copy their games. tried two of Solve a mystery’s cases in Oslo before this one in Copenhagen. Out of the two in Oslo I liked one and disliked the other. I decided to give them one more try. I should not have done that. This game was a copy of one of the Oslo games. Same story line and same puzzles. I did not like it in Oslo and not in Copenhagen. It feels more like a hide and seek game than an escape game. Hardly any logic puzzles and the few one included was super simple. For kids it might be more interesting though. This is the ladt game from this company!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience—we truly value your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your recent experience in Copenhagen didn’t meet your expectations. While some of our mystery games are designed to travel well and be enjoyed in multiple cities, we understand how disappointing it can be to encounter a storyline you've seen before, especially if it wasn't a favorite the first time. Our goal is to create immersive, city-based adventures that are accessible and engaging for a wide audience—including families, first-timers, and seasoned puzzlers alike. That sometimes means offering a range of game types, from logic-heavy challenges to story-driven exploration experiences. We regret that this particular format didn’t align with what you were hoping for. That said, your comments are invaluable as we continue to improve and expand our portfolio. We’re constantly developing new cases with fresh plots and puzzles, and we hope you might consider trying one of our upcoming releases tailored more toward the kind of gameplay you enjoy. Thank you again for your honest review—and for giving us multiple chances. We’re sorry to see you go, but appreciate your input and will use it to do better. Best wishes Solve A Mystery

Not too hard but quite entertaining
We did the crime tour Amalienborg on the last day because we still had to bridge time until the flight. It’s a nice little tour, the puzzles are not as hard as with other escape tours and you’re only traveling with a notebook and can always read the solution yourself. But it was fun and fun to bridge the time. It took us a little less than 2 hours

It’s a mystery
Very well put together mystery tour with high quality guide materials. Quite detailed and takes over two hours so could be other alternatives if you looking for easier treasure hunt type activity

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Copenhagen.
How much does Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Copenhagen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Copenhagen is not rushed.
Is Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Copenhagen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Copenhagen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Copenhagen and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Copenhagen Self-Guided Murder Mystery Tour by Amalienborg Palace start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Copenhagen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Copenhagen?
+
On Outty we rank every Copenhagen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Day Trip around Copenhagen, Walk & Canal Tour: Copenhagen Highlights + Changing of the Guards, Danish Hygge and Culture Walking Tour in Copenhagen Old Town. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Copenhagen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Copenhagen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
