Wonderful food and insight into Indian family life

We really enjoyed meeting Ravi and his family and learning about their family traditions while watching his wife Suman show the cooking process to several dishes. Suman described all the ingredients and also gave a recipe booklet to everything she cooked. All were made with only fresh ingredients and tasted amazing. The warmth with which their family welcomed us into their home and shared their history and tasty cooking was a highlight of our stay in Jaipur.

Response from the operator: Thanks. It was a pleasure to meet both of you and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the food and the cookery class. Thanks for sharing your valuable feedback and it keeps us motivated to continue doing better. Thanks again and hope to see you one day again.

Good teaching in a cozy and friendly setting.

We were received by the owner, Lokesh Matur and welcomed to the kitchen. He gave a very good introduction to the different spices before starting the class. For every dish, he demonstrated and let us execute. After completing the preparations, "our" dinner was served in the family's private living room. Besides learning how to cook Indian food, we also had good conversations. What a wonderful way to spend an evening! We hope to get a chance to introduce Lakesh Matur and his wife to Danish cooking at our house some day.

Friendly dinner experience

We feared this might be a very touristy experience, but in the end it was just the two of us spending a relaxed evening with a very welcoming and friendly family. We were shown the basics of rajasthani cooking, shared our own experiences and learned more about everyday life in India. Would do this again in a heartbeat, thank you very much for your hospitality!

Response from the operator: Thanks b0lle0. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed meeting and interacting with our family and enjoyed the cooking and the food. It was a pleasure to host both of you and we look forward to meeting you back one day. Thanks.

Authentic and unforgettable

To be welcomed so warmly into the typical middle class home of Ravi and Suman was a highlight of my trip to Jaipur. They are kind, have great positive energy and curiosity. I was the only participant, and they treated me like a long lost family member. And, yes, we cooked and ate. This meal was quite literally the best meal of my trip so far. The paneer was my favorite. Suman explained and demonstrated so well that I know I will be able to replicate the meal. And she spiced it up a notch for my preference. The spices were so fresh, fragrant and flavorful my mouth is still delighting in the sensation. I enjoyed every minute—especially looking at their wedding album and enjoying an art show by Ravi’s artist father. High value. Modest price. Unforgettable experience. Ravi picked me up at my hotel and made sure the Uber driver got me back. 5 stars PLUS!

Response from the operator: Thanks MarGRIT1965. We are delighted to know that you thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was an honour to meet you and host you and share the cuisine and culture. We had great time with you. Thanks again and hope to see you one day again.

+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jaipur?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
