Cook in a real Italian family home, not a restaurant kitchen. Our recipes have been handed down for generations and refined at top Italian and international cooking schools, including the school near Lyon founded by 3-Michelin-star chef Paul Bocuse. Still, our best teachers were always our grandmothers, and their little secrets are what we love to share. You'll spend three unforgettable hours in an elegant home in central Milan, surrounded by our family's private art gallery. You'll cook with your own hands, laugh, ask all the questions you want, then sit down at our table to enjoy the Italian classics you've made, with a glass of organic rosé. It feels less like a class and more like a meal with Italian friends. You'll leave with great memories and the confidence to recreate these dishes at home. Classes are in English, but our family speaks 10 languages and we're happy to explain a few words in yours. Private classes in other languages on request (min. 10 guests).

Homemade Pasta and Gelato....so GOOD
What a way to start our vacation in Italy! The private cooking experience with Mateo was so much fun. My wife and I loved the private setting and small group atmosphere. Mateo was such a good instructor that we felt comfortable from the moment he met us at the door. The pasta and gelato turned out amazing along with the wine Mateo offered from his family's private reserve. We would definitely recommend Mateo and this experience to anyone going to Milan and wanting to have fun making homemade pasta and gelato.....so good!!
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled that the private cooking experience with Mateo was such a memorable way to begin your Italian vacation. It’s lovely to hear that you and your wife enjoyed the intimate setting, the warm welcome, and making delicious pasta and gelato together. Mateo will be delighted to read your kind words. Thank you for recommending the experience, and we hope to welcome you back to Milan someday!

Must do in Milan!
It was truly an perfect and amazing experience. Matteo and his family were super welcoming and nice to meet. It was a pleasure to cook and share the Italian traditions. His Nonna also brought us pizza and selfmade limoncello as a snack. The taste was incredible. So a big grazie to matteo and his family and all the other participants. You made our Milan trip perfect. 20 out of 10 :)

Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.
How much does Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home cost?
+
Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.
Is Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 197 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home?
+
Around 69 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cook Like an Italian Nonna: Pasta & Gelato in a Milan Home start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Milan?
+
On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Lake Como & Lugano: 2 Countries in 1 Day, Boat Cruise, Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Como, Bellagio & Varenna: Small Group from Milan with Boat Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Milan?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Milan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
