I was visiting Chile this past week and had one of the best experiences on the Andes mountain tour.

It’s impressive because the Andes reach at least 5,500 m above sea level, and on this tour we got up to 3,000 m. The view of condors in their natural habitat was breathtaking. The guide and driver came straight to my accommodation and were right on time. On the way up the mountain they explained everything about the geography of the area. To top it off, we enjoyed a picnic with premium Chilean wine. This is definitely one of my best experiences visiting South America. Thank you for everything!

I recommend this tour to Valle Nevado

There are many ski resorts in the Andes, however if you want to do condor watching, I recommend this tour to Valle Nevado since you will go to the valley of the condors where most of them have their nests and perch freely all over the ski resort parking lot, my tour was made up of a group of 6 people which made the visit very pleasant and personalized, that is, we had complete and exclusive attention from the guide and driver, they were very flexible in letting us stop in different places to take postcard photos of the beautiful landscapes of the Andes... Now our tour included a picnic to complement the sunset, it was not just a service, it was an experience.

    Wonderful place

Tour to the Andes very pleasant, safe and fun, on this visit we took our little one on the tour, we complemented the visit with a delicious picnic, the view from 3 thousand meters high amazes you... getting there took us at least 1 hour and a half from our accommodation, which was very punctual on the part of the driver and guide since we coordinated everything previously through the platform's chat... seeing Santiago at twilight on the way back was the cherry on top of this visit... thank you for the beautiful experience.

    Super experience

I booked this tour on the recommendation of friends to see the sunset in the Andes and it was an exceptional way to close the visit in Santiago de Chile, with an extensive geography that characterizes Chile it is usually challenging which one to choose but a sunset will always be a wonderful option... Condors from 3 thousand meters high and a Chilean wine with a beautiful view of the mountain range... Thank you for this experience.

    Chile bird’s eye with MJ

Chile has from north to south an extensive geography that stopping to choose something takes time, once I entered the platform, TripAdvisor sent me the best of outdoor activities such as SUNSET IN THE MOUNTAINS, we saw condors in their natural habitat... the service includes transportation to and from my accommodation, so all that time was for me to enjoy and relax with the beautiful views of the mountain range, the picnic included wine and complementary snacks. I would definitely repeat it with friends. Moreover this tour was impromptu and MJ - our tour guide was the best for chile tour…

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.

How much does Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago cost?

    +

Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago take?

    +

Plan for about 7.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.

Is Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 7.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Condors & Sunset c/ Picnic departure by vehicle from Santiago start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Region: 4 Wineries, Tastings & Foodie Tour, Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Tour to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Pablo Neruda Museum and Vineyard. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santiago?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santiago?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
