Simply perfect! Exactly what we were looking for
The reason for this tour, for us was: we drove through Patagonia, but didn't see many condors, if any. That's why we searched for a condor tour around Santiago. Mauricio delivered exactly what we were looking for: a punctual, funny and knowledgeable guide, who drove us to the mountains to a place where we saw many condors. He communicated well before the day of our tour, showed up on time to pick us up at the hotel, explained the schedule of the day and we started. He told us where we could go to the bathroom, drove comfortable through a lot of curves, gave us some information about the surroundings, until we had a couple hours to see the condors. We were able to make amazing pictures and had a wonderful time. Thanks again Mauricio!!
Response from the operator: Thank you David! It was a real pleasure spending the day with you! And thank you again for the wonderful picture! It's probably the best picture taked during our tours ever, for sure! Muchas gracias!

Condors
Our tour guide Mauricio picked us up from our hotel on time. On the way to the Snow Valley (Valle Nevado in Spanish), we drove through 40 curves, followed by another 20, all very sharp curves. Along the way the scenery was breathtaking. We reached the Snow Valley at 11 am and almost immediately went to the Condor observation area. There were some wooden benches there so we could sit down. The toilets were a short walk away in the nearby buildings. We stayed there for about 2 hrs, watching condors. We saw several flying near the hotel buildings , and landing on the roofs, including at least one adult condor. Mauricio was friendly and also very knowledgeable. He took an excellent video showing an adult condor flying and sent to us (the ones taken by ourselves weren't very good). We had lunch afterwards in a nearby restaurant. We then drove back to Santiago and stopped at an artician market briefly before going back to our hotel. I highly recommend this tour If you are interested in seeing condors flying and great scenery in the Andes.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your excellent review! We are realy glad that you'd enjoy the tour with us! Muchas gracias!!

Many wild condors seen at close range
Fabulous views of condors in their environment. Excellent guide who gave good information about the area and knew best times to watch the birds in flight. We saw a mix of at least 3 adult birds and lots of different juveniles. The birds are wild and not tagged giving excellent opportunity for photos. The scenery is spectacular. This is, in my opinion a better tour than the one in punta arenas and for cruise ship people significantly cheaper than the one organised on board. The artisan village was good for last minute souvenirs
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review Christine! We are very glad that you'd enjoyed the tour!

Magnificent Condors
Excellent tour with a very knowledgable guide who drove the windy roads up to the ski resort expertly. We saw lots of condors - a wonderful experience. The restaurant was very good with choices of full meals or soup/sandwiches. Super day out.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much Susan! Very kad that you and David enjoyed the tour! Best regards!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only).: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.
How much does Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only). cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only). take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.
Is Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only). worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only).?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only). suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only).?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Condor watching tour (available from Nov to Apr only). start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santiago?
+
On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 vineyards from Santiago., Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Santiago: Valparaiso, Viña del Mar & Casablanca Wine Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santiago?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santiago?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
