    What you'll see and do

    1. Nasrid Palaces

Without a doubt, the Nasrid Palaces are the jewel of the Alhambra. They were built at different times by the Kings of Granada. - El Mexuar: Built by Ismail I. It is the oldest palace in the complex. It has undergone more modifications than any other. Inside we find a beautiful oratory with the Albaicín neighborhood in the background. - Comares Palace: Built by Yusuf I. A powerful 46 meter tower that is reflected in a large pond surrounded by a marble floor. Inside, the Hall of the Ambassadors where the Nasrid power and the Sultan's throne were centralized. On its ceiling there is a spectacular representation of the 7 heavens and the paradise of Islam. - Palace of the Lions: Built by Mohamed V. Inside the Palace we have 4 spaces: the Mocárabes Room, the Abencerrajes Room, the Kings Room and the Two Sisters Room. In the center, the famous Fountain of the Lions, icon of the Alhambra. - El Partal: Surrounded by gardens and a large pool.

    2. Alcazaba

The first part of the Alhambra built, by its founder Mohamed I "Al-hamar" in the first half of the Xlll century. An impregnable fortress, where we can access three of its towers: - Torre del Cubo: Looking at the Darro Valley, from which we get spectacular views of the Albaicín and Sacromonte. -Torre de las Armas: With an unbeatable view of the Cathedral, the center of Granada and La Vega. - Torre de la Vela: The most famous and from which we have 360º views of the entire city, including a sublime panoramic view of the Sierra Nevada. In the center of the fortress, the military or military neighborhood, where around 13 families lived. Today the foundations of the houses and some ruins of what were once a royal baths are preserved.

    3. Generalife

The Generalife houses the best example of a Nasrid garden in Europe that has survived to this day. Its Arabic name means "Garden of the Architect". It consists of two elements: - The Generalife Palace: It was used as a vacation residence for the Sultan, and here he retired to spend Ramadan. Inside we find the private rooms of the Patio de la Alberca, Patio de la Sultana, Salón Regio, and Mirador de Ismail. - The Generalife Gardens: Where we find a great variety of flowers, crops and plants. Which are watered with the waters of the Acequia Real.

    4. Palace of Carlos V

It was ordered to be built by Emperor Carlos V. Created to act as a prelude to the Nasrid Palaces. Its imposing Renaissance style stands out in the middle of the Nasrid palatine city. It was built by Pedro de Machuca, who trained in Italy with names like Michelangelo and Raphael. Upon his death, his son Luis de Machuca continued with the works. The peculiarity of this palace is that it is circular on the inside and square on the outside. It has a total of 64 columns, for its construction it was necessary to open a door (the Puerta de los Carros) in the Arab wall, to introduce the columns and materials.

    Misguided!

We got to the meeting point identified in the voucher early and immediately realized that no one was there. We asked a couple of ticket agents and tour group leaders where this meeting point was and we were sent in different directions. We finally found someone who sent us to the main ticket office. Unfortunately, we got there just before the tour was scheduled to begin and the guide was gone. There were no tickets available, and the Information desk told us our tickets were with our tour guide. Our only reason for coming to Granada was to tour the Alhambra. Needless to say, we couldn’t be more disappointed. We took a number of tours in Madrid and Sevilla. We always got a text with the name of the tour guide, where to meet them and how to identify them. At times we were able to text back-and-forth so there were no issues. This Alhambra tour never reached out to us. All we had was a voucher. We tried calling the local provider many times, but no one was available to answer the call. Disappointed? Absolutely!

Response from the operator: Dear Sir: We are deeply sorry for your bad experience. Your reservation was canceled on the day of your reservation due to lack of availability and the money paid was refunded a month before. You can check your bank account. Greetings.

Excellent and very complete Alhambra tour

This was excellent, very detailed and interesting information and easy entry to the Nasrid palaces (Wow - don't miss it), Generalife gardens, and Alcazaba. Our guide Christian was very clear and organized and packed a lot of info into our 3+ hour tour. (Our tour was delayed from 11am to 3pm, which fortunately was not a problem for us and we were told the day before - but perhaps good to have a flexible schedule.)

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your evaluation. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay at the Alhambra. Greetings from Granada :)

Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Granada.

How much does Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues cost?

    +

Prices start at $117 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Granada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Granada is not rushed.

Is Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Granada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Granada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Granada and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Complete Alhambra with tour guide - Avoid individual queues start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Granada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Granada?

    +

On Outty we rank every Granada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Granada: Sierra Nevada Safari tour up to 2500 meters high, Granada Tapas and Wine Small Group Tour, Granada: Albaicin and Sacromonte Segway Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Granada?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Granada?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
