DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Guide called us 2 minutes prior to our meeting time saying that the "boat was full" and that he had cancelled the experience on TripAdvisor and is not sure why it still charged me or why it still says booked on my side. He then proceeded to offer for me to go on the tour with a random company that he could not even tell me the name of... and not through trip advisor.. I explained I will need a refund as HE cancelled the experience before the 24 hour cancellation policy. He said he will wait til end of the day to "give me a refund" and put the reason as guide cancelled. Big surprise, NO REFUND. Left me on read and did not answer me. When Tripadvisor reached out to the number he called me with, he never responded. He then declined the refund. WOULD 100% NOT RECOMMEND.

No tour
I was at the meeting point at the right time but there was no tour for me! Nobody knows the operator and I was deeply worried. I sent a message to viator and asked for a refund.
Response from the operator: All of that was a misunderstanding; other agencies want to harm you

Huge disappointment!! All of the inclusions were not existent!!!
This tour includes only the transport !! Nothing of the amenities (lunch , chairs ) were offered to us!!! They refused to give us the complimentary lunch and the chair with umbrella! We had to pay for everything!!!! Beware because this tour only includes the boat transportation (which is half the price we paid). Horrible service!!!!

OKAY experience
Very unorganized departure from the port to the island. The island itself is beautiful but full of vendors that will trick you into buying their stuffs!

Delicious Food
We booked this tour the day before because it was a good price for what it included, and had an English tour guide. Once booked I contacted the tour group to ask about towels, and was informed to ask the restaurant for them once arrived. Arrived at the port, paid the taxes and got an empanada and coffee at their stand inside port security by gates 4 or 5 (delicious). Once on the boat, our tour guide did not speak English. All announcements were in Spanish, but the crew was helpful. Once arrived to the island, we get to the restaurant/beach area for this tour. The lounge chairs definitely need to be replaced. I asked our server and another worker at the place for towels and they said they don't provide towels. I showed them the text and they apologized but no they don't have any towels (BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS FROM THE HOTEL). Inside the restaurant, there are flies around the tables, so be prepared to fan your food while eating. NOW...the food... absolutely delicious! I would go back just for that fresh fish, rice and their homemade mango lemonade drink. Our waitress, Camilla, was very nice and helpful. The beach has some rocks in the water so be careful going in. The water is beautiful though and a nice stroll on the beach. They also have venders selling multiple things on the beach and massage therapists.
Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing us and I already indicate to the restaurant what has been informed, thank you 😊

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.
How much does Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.
Is Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Come and enjoy an unforgettable day on the island of Baru start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cartagena?
+
On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel, Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cartagena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
