The Catamaran was packed with well over 60 people.

First, the trip to see the pyramids was as expected in every way. The cost for knick knacks will knock your socks off. Our guide was great. Day 2 ooooof! Our transport to the bay included 30min late 3 stops collecting 15 paying folks in a vehicle that could only hold 11. The catamaran was clearly overbooked. There had to be over 60 people. My family of five was sitting in areas that clearly weren’t meant for sitting. The had us take our water shoes off to enter the vessel. While entering my daughter slipped on the slippery surface and cut her foot between her toes. We had to take a separate ferry at our expense to take our daughter to seek medical attention. All they had was a poorly stocked first aid kit full of wrappers instead of sterile supplies. When she was seen at the hospital they asked us who bandaged her and commented that they didn’t know what they were doing and that the wound was not properly cleaned. This ended our water activities as a family. Avoid a company that will place more care for the vehicle than the humans it’s designed to carry. They should be fined if not sued for how they operate. If you are ok feeling like cattle being transferred from one port to another. It’s on you.

Response from the operator: Regarding your comments, we are sorry you feel this way, please request your reunion directly with TripAdvisor or support@satmexico.com so we can be notified and make the adjustment. We truly regret the measures we took in the situation and we will improve in every possible aspect to deliver a quality service. Please receive our full apologies

1st day your great. 2nd day not so much

Chichén Itzá and Cenote was amazing. Our tour guide Pastor was helpful and informative. A really kind guy. I rate this as average because the second day which included the catamaran to isla mujeres was not clear that shuttle service was not included and would be an additional fee. Buyer be aware. Shuttle service is only for day one and unless you are close to Cancun you will need to get shuttle service so an additional appx 1300 mxn (70usd). Also I tried several times to set up shuttle service through Trip Advisor and SAT Tours but never got options. Just the same repeated message that shuttle service was not included. So ended up not going on the Isla Mujeres portion. Might be better to exclude Isla Mujeres if you do not lock down shuttle service.

Response from the operator: We are sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations, we will work on all the aspects you mentioned so that we can deliver a better quality product. Please receive our apologies.

Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Combo Saver: Chichen Itza & Cenote + Isla Mujeres Catamaran start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
