Just above the the Roman Forum there’s the Palatine Hill, where Rome was established in 753 BC, 21st of April. This is where the first nucleus of Rome took shape, and where the houses, villas and palaces of the kings, emperors and notable people were. The Palatine hill was chosen by Romulus as it was deemed to be the best of all the 7 hills of Rome thanks to its ideal and central position. The Romans, as other ancient civilizations, tended to choose the high grounds close to rivers for their early settlements. This gave a strategic advantage in case of military attack as well as against the frequent floods of the water streams. Walk on the hill where the history of Rome started from. Worth the time and worth the money
Our private tour experience was worth every dollar we spent. Ambrose was incredibly knowledge and brought ancient Rome to life. Additionally, he was able to tie together multiple timelines and countries' histories. We all love every single minute.

David Battaglino planned our perfect honeymoon!
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Rome, and in the lead up we connected with David Battaglino at the recommendation of my coworker. What an absolute Godsend David was. David gave us a spectacular, informative and hilarious tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Pantheon. Both are must take with David. He has such a passion and appreciation for his city and it's history. He also went above and beyond for my wife and I and helped set us up on tours that he did not lead. He facilitated our tour of Pompeii/Amalfi Coast, the Borghese Museum, The Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's. To top it off his wife separately also took us on a tour of some of the neighboring towns of Rome and the catacombs. Nemi in particular will stand out in our memory. David put together our entire Rome itinerary, and was the true MVP of our trip. We are both eternally grateful, and already are looking forward to going back.
