Suberb driver for the whole of this...

Suberb driver for the whole of this tour, accommodated to our needs from start to finish. The guide which we had in Fort Kochi was very knowledgeable and was great with my younger children to stop them getting too bored. The Kathakali dance performance was interesting and definitely worth doing if visiting Kochi, the only issue was, our guide just left us to our own devices at the dance performance so therefore had to find our driver in the dark after the performance. the driver was suberb with this though and was waiting close by the car watching for us, and also recommended and took us to a supermarket on the way back to our hotel.

Colourful spectacle
Arranged in advance by our agents we attended the Kochi cultural theatre to watch the entertaining cultural dance. We had front row reserved seating, and were privy to watching the artistes apply their make up for the show. With their colourful costumes it was a pleasure to watch the show. There is a moral story to the dance, which would take far too long to explain here. So if in Kochi, take time out to visit this show. You won’t be disappointed in the approx one hour spectacle.
Response from the operator: Thanks and noted the coments.

Wonderful make up
Last time we tried to watch this show, our flight arrived too late in the evening for us to be able to attend, so on this trip we were determined to see the show. Trailfinders, had arranged our tour and we had front row seats which were amazing as we could watch each dancer as they applied their make meticulously. This took almost an hour and I was riveted to my seat. To see the care with which every stroke of colour was applied, and the delicate patterns was far more interesting that I thought it could be. Then followed a brief talk about the make up, description of the parts that would be danced, each dancer showing their skills separately, finally they danced to a story led by the host of the evening. It was fascinating and unusual, and disappointing to think that some people found it uninteresting. It certainly added to our enjoyment of the stay in Kochi.
Response from the operator: Ok noted the same

Brilliant - a great taster session
We took a punt on this and I really enjoyed it. The show started at 5 but they start applying makeup at 4 so it is up to you when you want to join. We arrived at 4.15 ish to see the makeup being applied. You can take photos throughout this and the show. The theatre is air conditioned. The show is only an hour long but it is enough to give you the flavour without too much commitment so in that respect I think that the theatre does a really good job. There is a voiceover that tells you in English what is happening or what the story is they are about to portray. At the end they invite you up for photos. If you want one with green faced guy, get up quickly as his costume weighs over 50 kilos and as much of it is on his head, he only sticks around for a few photos.
Response from the operator: Thanks and noted that you enjoyed this program.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kochi.
How much does Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $42 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kochi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kochi is not rushed.
Is Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kochi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kochi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kochi and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Colors of Kochi: City Tour & Kathakali Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kochi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kochi?
+
On Outty we rank every Kochi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Local Kochi Sightseeing Tuk-Tuk Tour, Kochi Sightseeing Tuk-Tuk Tour, Kochi Sightseeing Tuk-Tuk Tour with Pickup From Cruise Ships. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kochi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kochi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
