A MUST DO when visiting Medellin

WONDERFUL… we had the most amazing experience at La Casa Grande. From Walter the tour guide who flawlessly interpreted from Spanish to English including all his guests. Walter taught us so much about the history of coffee to the process of making and drinking coffee. We went up in the hills and were able to pick some coffee beans and enjoy the beautiful vistas. We had a delicious lunch and were able to meet others from around the world. Ending our experience in a coffee tasting which was so fun and informative. I consider this a MUST-DO when visiting Medellin. Thank you Walter and Daisy for the wonderful day.

Wonderful tour!

This was a highlight of our trip to Medellin! Walter was a wonderful guide through the property, and shared the history of coffee as well as walking us through their steps to grow and process the beans for their coffee. The coffee is some of the best that I have ever had. We will definitely return in the future!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for making us a highlight of your Medellin trip! We are incredibly proud of our process and our beans, so hearing that it’s some of the best coffee you’ve ever had truly makes our day. I'll be sure to give Walter a special shout-out for sharing our history and craft so well with you. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the hacienda in the future!

Great time for all ages

I was looking to just spend the afternoon with the family enjoying coffee, but received a great education on coffee! After the historical information, we were able to see each step of the process before taking a break with a delicious lunch. Finally ended the tour with a coffee tasting, and bringing everything full circle by combining everything we learned and saw earlier in the day. Definitely recommend as it's just outside of the city and a great way to learn about the culture while visiting.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re so happy you and your family enjoyed learning the full coffee process, from history to tasting, along with a delicious lunch. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back to La Casa Grande ☕🌿

Beautiful and memorable

We LOVED our coffee farm tour here with Walter. The property is beautiful and idyllic, the lunch meal was excellent, delicious and healthy. We learned SO much about coffee through the picking beans to the demonstration of how they are made through to the tasting. I feel like I know how to appreciate coffee better now and also how to prepare it in the best way!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely words! We’re thrilled to know you enjoyed the farm, the lunch, and learning the full coffee process with Walter—helping guests appreciate and prepare coffee better is exactly what we love to share at La Casa Grande ☕🌿

The best tour to learn from a local coffee farm

I can’t recommend this tour enough for solo travelers! The staff made everything from booking to pick up seamless with quick communication through What’s app. The farm itself is 100 years old and all the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. You get to experience a true bean to cup experience with an incredible home cooked lunch and views of the surrounding countryside only a short drive from the city. Thank you to Walter for all your knowledge and the staff for sharing this experience and all your knowledge.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that your experience as a solo traveler felt seamless, from the booking and pick-up to enjoying the history of our hacienda-museum, the bean-to-cup process, the home-cooked lunch, and the beautiful countryside views. We hope to welcome you back again soon! 🌿☕

Coffee Experience from bean to cup: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Medellín.

How much does Coffee Experience from bean to cup cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Medellín usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Coffee Experience from bean to cup take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Medellín is not rushed.

Is Coffee Experience from bean to cup worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 74 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Medellín, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Coffee Experience from bean to cup?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Coffee Experience from bean to cup suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Coffee Experience from bean to cup?

+

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Medellín can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Medellín and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Coffee Experience from bean to cup start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Medellín within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Medellín?

+

On Outty we rank every Medellín experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guatapé Tour: Piedra del Peñol with Boat Tour, Breakfast, Lunch, Half-Day Coffee Tour: From the Seed to the Cup, Farm & roastery, Private Guatape & Coffee Farm Tour: The Two Must do in One Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Medellín?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Medellín?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
