The real story of Paris is wine, and the wine history of Montmartre is perhaps the most compelling. Paris Wine Walks is the only wine tour company that includes vineyard visits with blind wine tastings. Living vines and living wines! We share the wine history of Paris and explain how wine built Paris, and was also the inspiration for Gothic Architecture. Montmartre is one of Paris' most picturesque quarters and climbing any of the 2207 steps to get there requires a certain energy, but its worth the effort! The village of Montmartre has preserved its rural charm and so a walk along its historic streets makes one feel as if they're in a country village. Our walks are convivial, pedagogical, entertaining and original. Join us, and 'Take a walk on the vine side!'

Vigne du Clos Montmartre
The most celebrated of Paris' intra-muros vineyards, the Clos Montmartre epitomises ‘the old Paris’ and contributes greatly to giving one the impression that they are far away from the madding crowds of the city. The walk recounts the wine history of Montmartre and the Abbey de Montmartre, and includes anecdotes about the artistic, literary, and cultural history of the village. There is a fine view of the Clos Montmartre vineyard from the parapet in the garden of the Musée de Montmartre and it is here, overlooking the vineyard, that we detail its history. Following the visit of the vineyard from the museum gardens, it is a short walk to our wine tasting on the Place du Tertre, the heartbeat of the Montmartre village. The wine tasting includes the very rare wine of the Clos Montmartre and a blind tasting of 2 additional wines - a white and a red. The wine tasting will be accompanied by shared plates of cheeses and rustic fermented bread.

About Clos Montmartre and more
A very pleasant afternoon with Geoffrey, who is not only a knowledgeable guide around Montmartre but also a wine lover. Unfortunately, we could not taste 2024 Clos Montmartre, but we were made aware of that in advance and offered alternatives. It made for a very pleasant afternoon in good company and we were sorry having to leave abruptly due to a birthday dinner reservation. Alas, we did not get to take Geoffrey’s book on hidden vineyards of Paris, which we are now trying to find on-line. Note: The area of Montmartre is quite hilly. Also, the meeting point is not well specified by Viator. The meeting spot is in front of the church: Saint-Pierre de Montmartre. And Geoffrey will explain why it is even more interesting than Sacré-Cœur.
Response from the operator: Thank you Pavel! Sorry we forgot to give you a book. You can buy the book via our website: https://www.paris-wine-walks.com/product-page/the-hidden-vineyards-of-paris

The vineyards of Paris
My wife and I were fortunate to have Geoffrey all to ourselves for our tour of Montmartre. He was knowledgeable about viticulture and the history of winemaking in the Ile de France, as well as the general history of Paris and specifically Montmartre. I've been to Paris several times but never knew anything about the history of winemaking in Paris. We highly recommend this short walk and talk as a great way to get to know a little more about the city and this fascinating neighborhood.
Response from the operator: Thank you David! We look forward to hosting you again whenever next you're in Paris!

A Must Do in Montmartre!
We truly enjoyed our walk about with Geoffrey. He shared so much information/history of the Montmartre are, but we especially enjoyed all of the history of wine in Paris. We ended the tour at a nice establishment where we continued the tour with a tasting of three different wines. And some delicious french cheeses with bread as well. A wonderful experience with a truly wonderful guide! I would definitely recommend to others who are (or want to be) connoisseurs of wine. Geoffrey shares his background and experiences of this subject with you! Thank you Geoffrey, for a wonderful and enjoyable time!
Response from the operator: Thank you Darlene! I'm looking forward to seeing you again whenever next you're in Paris!

Wine & Cheese tour
Our tour guide Geoffrey was fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the area. Had great time interacting with him. Very personable. The wine and cheese were great, much different from America. Had a great time and meet some interesting people.
Response from the operator: Thank you Paul for your great review! We look forward to hosting you again whenever next you're in Paris! All the best, Geoffrey

Walking afternoon to enjoy local Montmartre history and wines! Fascinating way to learn with new friends.
Walking and talking was the perfect way to share Geoffrey’s knowledge of the local wine, food and art history around Montmartre. Questions and answers really improved our preparation for the blind wine tasting and allowed us to learn from each other and the host. Visiting the vineyard and Montmartre Museum with an expert guiding us allowed for the full enjoyment of the time spent. We all learnt so much in one afternoon!

Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.
How much does Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at €105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 2.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.
Is Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 2.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Clos Montmartre Paris in your Glass Wine Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paris?
+
Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based), Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paris?
+
April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paris?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
