Great day exploring
Enzo is the BEST guide. We did the rafting and hanging bridges w/ lunch tour with him and will never forget the day we had. He was super knowledgeable, great with kids and really wanted us to have a good time. We would have missed so much if we had walked the hanging bridges alone. He made sure we missed nothing. Rafting the Balsa River was just plan amazing. So many animals and excitement, the guides all made sure we had a great experience. The stop for lunch at Arenal Vida Campesina was chef's kiss. My husband is still dreaming about the food. The coffee making demonstration and moonshine tasting was really cool too. No notes, Wave Expeditions. Thank you so much!
Response from the operator: Enzo is going to love reading this—thank you for sharing it. He has a special way of making the day feel easy and fun, especially for families, and we’re so happy he helped you get so much more out of the hanging bridges than you would have on your own. And what a day to remember: rafting the Balsa River with wildlife all around, a team that keeps the energy up, and then finishing at Arenal Vida Campesina with that home-style lunch. Tell your husband he’s not alone—more than a few guests keep talking about that meal long after they leave. We’re also glad you enjoyed the coffee-making demo and the tasting experience. Thanks again for spending the day with Wave Expeditions. You’ll always have a place with us on the river the next time you’re back in La Fortuna.

So Much Fun!!!
We had the best experience with Wave Expeditions!! Our day started with the hanging bridges tour with Gustavo and he was such a great guide! We saw frogs, snakes, beetles, and learned about the volcano and surrounding area. His telescope was perfect and we got some amazing photos! Following this adventure, others joined us on the bus and it was time for the rafting. We were fortunate that we got to stick with Gustavo as our guide. We had so much fun! We were given clear directions and felt safe in our raft with helmets and life vests. Cruising through the river was a blast! We didn't want it to end. There was even a sloth sighting! (though a bit hard to really see). The fresh fruit snack was the prefect treat halfway through the trip. Afterwards we had a great lunch and learned about juicing sugar cane and had a shot! Highly recommend this for some fun in Costa Rica!
Response from the operator: Awesome review! Thanks so much for Sharing your Adventure story with us! Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges combo is one of our best sellers, has a perfect mix between Adventure, Nature, and Culture. Our Safety methods are according to the International standard, and all of our guides have International Certificates as Adventure Guides.

My family and I had a great time on the rapids. There is a bit of manipulation here but it is all in good fun. The watermelon and pineapple break was awesome! I highly reccommend!

Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Hermosa.
How much does Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna cost?
+
Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Hermosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Hermosa is not rushed.
Is Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Hermosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Hermosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Hermosa and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Hermosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Hermosa?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Hermosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include La Leona waterfall adventure hike half day, White Water River Rafting Class III-IV from La Fortuna-Arenal, Guachipelin Zipline, River Tubing, Horseback Ride, Hot springs & Lunch Combo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Hermosa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Hermosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna?
+
Included: Professional guide; Driver/guide; Snacks; Lunch; and In-vehicle air conditioning. Not included: Alcoholic drinks; and Souvenir photos (available to purchase). Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered, or you can meet at the start point instead from 51 listed pickup locations in and around Playa Hermosa. Be ready about 30 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna offered in?
+
It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Class II-III Rafting and Hanging Bridges from La Fortuna?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
